32 out of 50 custom songs are showing

hey guys,

i've converted the songs to .ogg (acutally the songs that i'm good at) and added the .sm files to them. all 50 songs are under 1:59 and are under 5mb.

and only 32 of them are showing up.

actually, they go off and on. Fascination MAXX keeps on dissapearing on me. any suggestions would help.

if it helps, i'll list my songs....maybe there's something else that's wrong.

Have you set the other 18 to be used with (songname).ogg instead of (songname).mp3 in the .sm files?

Do you have over 50 songs ON said card?

I'm not trying to be insulting, I'm just thinking of random error-causing bits and listing them.

anywho, first off, i orginally had up to and about 100 songs on the drive, thinking there was no limit. and after 3 dollars, the songs never showed up. I later found a FAQ which explained the 50 limit. i followed those rules and now here we are.

secondly, that was a great idea. one i didn't think of, so i went into each file, it did seem as if the reconversion of the .sm files did that already, but i copied and pasted them just in case.

i can't make it to the arcade until tonight, so i'll try then.

I had the same problem. Everything was working fine. I continued to show up at the arcade with more and more songs recently tweaked for the r21 upgrade, when all of the sudden I came with a lot of songs and parts of the list refused to show up. Even songs that worked before didn't show up. The machine kept descriiminating against songs listed A-F.

Call me Fletch all you want, no issue with it here.

Some other ideas:
* Try testing the songs in Stepmania and see if any issues arise.
* Do any of the songs have odd characters in their titles?
* Do certain songs have tags others don't (only check if you're familiar with the innards of an .sm file)?

Do videos cause the song to not show up?

Is there a size limit on the song folder? (not the 50 song thing, like a 50 Mb or whatever thing)

Did you try playing the songs in a media player? Sometimes the conversion screws up the music.

I have songs dissapearing and coming back next game.

This started to happen when I had about 49 songs on my USB

Try to tone it down, kids.

NEVER!!!! i still have all the ddr solo songs to get though. then disney dancing museum....

but yeah, i was able to get jump on a machine ealier today, and (after changing the names and making sure they all worked) i jumped up to 42. and then back to 32 and then up to 42 again.

not to mention, that just about every time, i choose the impossibly hard song....and end up quitting though the middle of it? nahhhhh

I tried playing a song and the steps don't show up. The song played, not the steps. Had to hold start and quit.

this one time...at band camp.....

lol, but seriously, i was ready to play Pirate Dance (from mario ddr) and i hit the select button, suddenly i heard a loud noise and then that vinilla ninja song or whatever came up instead of my song.

I got the same error with my own song list only I got the Mouth song. It didn't happen again fortunately.

To answer all of your guyses question with the parts of the songlist not showing up, I finally found the answer if you haven't already.

ITG2 has a certain time limit when it loads songs. When that time limit is reached, the songs not loaded will not show up. Thus, the songlist may occasionally end up with parts missing.

I hope this answers all of your questions.

How strange how it seams to be random. Sometimes it will load all of my songs, and other times it won't.
