4 arrows at a time

I have some songs on my comp where i need to press down four arrows at the same time. however my computer only registers 3. is there a way to fix this without buying a new keyboard? and also, im looking to buy a usb dance pad that will connect to my computer, do most of these register 4 buttons at a time?

Are you using the arrow keys? Most keyboards don't allow all four arrow keys to be pressed at once. However, the number pad can register four keys at once (2+4+6+8).

You don't need to get a new keyboard if you want to continue playing with the arrow keys. Just find a really old one.

Of course it would probably break after a day of using it.

You can always map a second set of keys elsewhere on the keyboard and see if that helps.

I have an Eclipse II that won't allow me to press more than 3 keys in proximity to each other, but if I have my keps mapped to the arrow keys and WASD, I can use two keys on WASD and two arrow keys to hit the quad arrows no problem.

Getting a new keyboard or borrowing an old one are your only options for keyboard play. It's not your computer it's your keyboard.

what you can do (though it won't be very accurate == greats!) ishit two of the arrows and then hit the other one/two arrows in quick succession. It should register as a triple/quad hit.

What i do though is have the double setup that the guys above me are talking about.

as they say above. Get another set of keys.

While doing that go input test in option. Press whatever key you may want and press the 4 keys at the same and see if it register. That is beauty of input test

If you want you can turn on No Hand Modifier in the double enter entering gameplay.

As for USB dance pad, I don't know if they going to work with 4 registered. I heard most won't work completely depending on brand so I don't know about that since I use PS2 -> USB

Hmm seeing i've had this problem aswell( i played using CVNM,but i could press 2 at a time,now moved the rightside keys to m, and it works ok now ) .when playing using the keys,or WASD,i suggest you read the above posts(using the numpad,double setup).when playing spread,you need to move the keys away from eachother ( like i did)

How old is your computer? It's either really old, or you have a weird setting triggered. If you think that may be the case, reset your settings in that category, or check a friend's to make sure.

If that isn't the problem, what can I say, get a new computer.

It's never the computer's fault. It's a problem with the keyboard.

I'm pretty sure it's the keyboard. Mine doesn't work either when pressing 4 arrows at a time, and it only works when pressing 3 arrows at a time if it's L-D-R or D-U-R.

It's not sticky keys. It's a limit with the keyboard being able to process x number of keys from the same general area on the board itself.

if your keyboard wont accept 4 keys then my best bet is to jus get a new keyboard

as for playing with a dance pad on ur computer i have used 1 of the used to be popular Super Joy Box Pro from may flash all u need is a dance pad and the adpater and u can do all the arrows but i do not recommand those cheep flimsy pads as they tend to break up so much get something like the red octane pads that have foam

Also thought I posted here, but maybe not. There's some other topics (read: 573 topics) on this board that have the same question answered. Buy a new expensive keyboard, find a really old one, set NoHands in SM, or just deal with it.
