[/topic] | Alright, you say that people won't buy a PS3 just because of IIDX? Well if people don't have a PS3 to play IIDX on & when there won't be anymore PS2 styles, they're definitely going to want to play newer styles, thus them wanting to get a PS3. Sony is putting out an official adapter, even though the Pelican adapter works fine for IIDX. You said it lags.. have you tried it on a Japanese PS3 with beatmaniaIIDX? Because it doesn't..
About online downloads:
You're not going to be paying the extra $5.00 to have Live on your Xbox. I'm not really sure why the song packs didn't sell well, but maybe because people had access to them & just played them through Stepmania. I'm sure IIDX will end up on the PS3 in the future because they're all about visuals. A nice high definition theme, arcade accurate visuals, etc. etc.

It's not like it would hurt to include some DLC. It's there if you want it and it can be ignored if you don't.

As for IIDX PS3, I want it therefore we should see a release. Either you want it or wouldn't be disappointed if you had the option of buying it on PS3 (given that they release it and you don't have a PS3). End of story whether or not it's a "bad idea." Don't forget, WE'RE the ones supposd to be creating demand for these things, not just reinforcing Konami's whatever-the-fuck-it-is that keeps them from printing games for the fans they have in America.
Just curious, we see CS releases (in Japan) so we know they make decent sales, and I can tell you personally that it's not hard for me here in Japan to play IIDX at the arcades within walking distance. Just how well DO the CSs sell over there?

Just how well DO the CSs sell over there? | For the audience that they are aiming for, the IIDX CS/other Bemani related CS versions do well. However, in comparison to the regular games that Konami makes, such as the MGS series and Winning Eleven, they do horribly. Bemani games are most popular in the arcades and have a trickle down effect to the CS market. The games will most likely remain on the PS2 simply for the fact that they aren't that complicated (in comparison to other games), and releasing the games on the PS3 would cannibalize their sales of previous styles. rmz said it first, and best, but I'll paraphrase it for those who missed it. Each game gets like 50-60 new songs. The songlist at the arcade contains most of the songs from previous releases, save for licenses and a few of the older songs. The size of the current song lists are about 400+ songs. That means that for every new style that they release on the PS3, they'd be re-releasing about 80% of the same songs over and over, thus cannibalizing their own game. What's the point of buying IIDX Nth Style if Nth-1 style has basically the same songlist except it has 50-60 some odd new songs and a new interface. There wouldn't be any point in that. Maybe they would do that in the distant future, but for now, since they don't need all the extra processing power, I think they'll just leave it on the PS2 as it's far easier for them to develop on that platform than on the PS3.
