Complicated problem with Simfile creation. Hello, I have a problem with creating a simfile that's a complicated one.
Alright, so as usual, I make the folder, put the MP3 file in the folder, and then create a DWI for it. Wa-lah, that should have been it, because that always works. I go to Stepmania and can't find it on my Edit/Sync Song list. I searched through every single one and it isn't there. "Weird" I think, but I decided to just do it over again, something obviously went wrong.
So, I do it again, and the same thing happens. It isn't there. "Alright, obviously Stepmania is messing up, I'll restart the computer, maybe that will work". Did that, still the same. To test that Stepmania is really screwed up, I downloaded a song for it and extracted it to where all of my other songs are, including the one I'm trying to make. Hallelujah, that shows up, but the song I'm trying to create is still MIA.
The next thing I tried was putting it in Stepmania Online and trying it there. Nope, it doesn't show up there either. I even put the recently downloaded song in SMO and it showed up fine. One more thing I tried was creating a new Songs subfolder in original Stepmania and in SMO, so I could have songs I'm creating in a seperate folder from the songs that I have. (So I won't have to scroll through the many songs I have) Wouldn't you know it? The folder doesn't even show up. I put songs in there and everything and it says I only have one folder that has songs in it.
So, I come here and read the stickies about creating a Simfile. I did it manually, using the NotePad and saving it as an SM file. I put it in the folder that my song is in, and re-load Stepmania. It didn't work either. I'm really dumbfounded as to why songs I download will work, but songs I create won't.
What makes it more confusing is that I've made Simfiles recently. I've had no problem with it in the past, and now it's just problem-filled.
I hope this was the right place to post this, because I don't use these forums a lot. Please help me with this problem if you can.
Thanks. |
