But Final Fantasy VI is still the BEST of the series. There are a lot of reasons, but some of the most important are:
-10 characters with independant development. None of them is more important than other, all of them have an equally important role in the entire game.
-The stories are actually TRAGIC, not some kind of teen-angst fanfiction *remembers the death of Cyan's family*
-Overall, the game reached visual, artistic and narrative levels you wouldn't expect in a 16 bit game. The game was epic all the time.
-The esper system was easy to manage. You didn't need to spend HOURS to learn just 1 spell.
-Gameplay wise, each character was different, with different subsystems (swordtech, blitz, rage, etc.).
-2 charismatic extra characters
-Etc. | Total agreeance with this entire post.

And Emerald is actually beatable without using KORT... though you need to raise your DEF stats a lot.
And Golden Chocobo was a bitch to obtain. IIRC, you needed to cross a niggah Chocobo with a special kind of normal chocobo you can only find at a certain icy region.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I find FF8 to be my personal favorite of all. I lovedd the system and the story, plus the Omega Weapon made Ruby and Emerald look like a crack baby. They made him TOO powerful though, when your strategy implies that you must have a large stock of items that make you INVINCIBLE, then there's something wrong...
But as for BEST...I may have to go with 10 or 7. They both created worlds that you could spend your life exploring and still find entertainment...blitzball, chocobo races, Gold Saucer, all you need is the FF8 card game and it's cool.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | i played 1 on the emulator cuz it's damn near impossible (at least for me anyway) to find the original NES cartridge. i kinda stopped playing it cuz at the time i was perfecting my IIDX skills and that was my poison at the time.

The new content was worth it, though. Specially the 2nd sky temple (large as fuck).

Oh yeah, 5's very fun. | |
