FFIX > all FF's.
It had the forbidden "character development" aspect to it.

FFI-III all suck. Bad NES games.

FFIV is somewhat decent.

FFV is weird and pretty gay.

FFVI is awesome and I love almost everything about it. Awesome music.

FFVII sucks and is incredibly overrated.

FFVIII blows.

FFIX isn't as bad as the other PSX ones, but it's still not great. It was trying too hard to be like FFVI.

FFX is gay as hell.

FFX-2 lol.

FFXI is some retarded MMORPG.

FFXII looks promising, since it's made by the FFT/Vagrant Story team. Great soundtrack.

FFT is one of the greatest games ever created. FFT is definitely the greatest Final Fantasy game. Best music of the entire series.

FFT:A is the worst excuse for a piece of shit ever. I completely despise that game, and not just because of how badly it raped FFT.

So yes, I would have to say that FFT is the best Final Fantasy title.

Funny, I thought FFT didnt even feel like a FF game, probably because of the "Ogre Battle"-type gameplay, which I didnt like at all (and yes I have beaten FFT so I can comment on it).
Not sure why you hate FFVII so much, its a great game. Maybe some specifics other than "overrated"?
I also did not like FFVIII, mostly because of it's whole "school" thing (yes I know they are military schools, but still). The only thing I liked was Eden+Boost.
FFX was cool except for one aspect: Tidus. That damn pussy needs to grow some balls.
I agree on your comment of FFX-2, because it is indeed lol.

EDIT: I realized it was Moogy saying all this, he hates everything popular.

FFTA sucked big time, i played one battle and then couldnt play again cause i lost interest.

What type of leveling up do you guys like in the games? I prefer the final fantasy 1 type where its just level up- stats up. Unlike FF2 where if your strentgh goes up, your spirit goes down etc.

I'm going to suggest to the people that like FF7 to actually go play it. It's aged horribly, and it wasn't very good to begin with.

The plot is a mess. Don't even try to deny that. So many plotholes and random tangents of story. The translation is also HORRIBLE, not to mention that it adds random swearing everywhere. Fun fact: Barret rarely swears in the Japanese script.

The graphics, though impressive in 1997 or whenever, are horrible today. I didn't even like them back then, since I was expecting it to be 2D like FFVI. IMO, it would've been a lot better if it was 2D.

The gameplay, although fun, is overly simple. Materia eliminates any sort of individuality amongst characters, rendering them all the same but for their limit breaks, which are useless except for Omnislash anyway.

The music is pretty good. Uematsu's gone steadily downhill since FFVI, though, and it started with FFVII.

I've never understood all the praise for FFVII beyond the fact that it was the first RPG many people played. I'm not saying I dislike it because I feel a need to be "edgy" or "anti-popular" or whatever. I'm saying I dislike it because it's really not a very good game.

EDIT: Also, I've beaten FFT over 50 times, done most SSCs, and have invested over 3000 hours into it. I have an entire memory card dedicated to it. #1 played game. #2 is Disgaea with just over 2000 hours.

Something that wasn't that good from the beginning couldn't age properly :P

Don't forget all those angsty moments where Cloud goes emo, that really stupid teen love triangle between Tifa, Cloud and Aeris, and finally the fact that Sephirot isn't the big villain penis everyone thinks he is. Surely, he's better than other FF bad guys (fucking X-Death and Ultimecia, in example), but he didn't really make anything remotely evil during the entire game, except burning that village (forgot the name), there were other sicker characters during the game (Hojo being the BEST one, IMO) and finally he's only the damned japanese stereotype of affeminated bad guy that, for some reason, is popular and supposedly badass. Also, why would I admire a villain that runs away from you?

Aw, c'mon, you are not going to judge a 1997 game with 2006 standards.

*Clap clap* Finally, I've found someone that can see that.

Dude, there's no other reason.

Unpartially talking, FFVII is good... but not as ZOMGGODLIKESHIT as the fanboys and fangirls want to make you believe.
