:< | Something's definitely....not right here. A 2nd JKOC? A thought of such magnitude has never come upon my mind on terms other than for 2 players or DOUBLES play.
How exactly did the 1st JKOC naturally break/malfunction in such a short period of time? Severe sticking is usually the only natural ailment of the JKOC, which can be easily fixed with mods.

My first one lasted about a year or two, modded and all, then just started sticking. I cleaned it, oiled it, tried every mod - eventually shaving it, still stuck >.<
Second JKOC hasn't lasted long at all, but I did notice when i took the keys out for a clean, each key has a lot of vertical scuffs/scratches on the edges, as if they have been rubbing on the button cage......thing :/
I do take care of my controllers too I'm not the type to spill orange juice all over it, and I clean it at least once a week.

Like I said, sticking is a natural ailment of the JKOC....I don't really advise the use of oil, as that can leave residue over time, possibly making things worse. You said that you shaved the keys...eep!, that's usually the last resort, lol the keys must've been aggravating you to no end. Have you tried the "Cardboard CD Circle Key Mod" yet? I did it early last year and had very few sticky problems afterwards; I doubled up on the cardboard circles.

I find them very reliable because when you stack 2 cardboard pieces together after playing it consecutively, over time the cardboard will flatten which will sink the keys a bit more.
I would go to a local hardware store, get little cutouts of cardboard circles, compare sizes with other washers and super glue them underneath.
Hope this helps.

Oni is just a typical very sarcastic Internet troll. I don't think I like him very much, but he's kind of clever (read: smart and funny, the last time I'll ever say anything nice about him)
I just don't think you're smart enough to understand why he says and does things. No offense.
Yes I do mean offense. I lied. Sorry.
No, I'm not sorry. | |
