 Global warming a real threat?
Partially in effort to prove that I'm not a troll I've decided to create a thread asking your opinions on the issue. Now I'm confident that there have been similar threads like this in the past, but digging those up, as stated numerous times by multiple useres, wouldn't be a super duper idea. So I now create a new thread presenting two very different ideas regarding global warming.
The first idea is how it's generally accepted by the average joe. I assume that most of you have at least a vague idea how it works so I won't go into any detail.
The second, however, is much less popular yet backed by some good science. Unfortunately I may lack some details, but I'm sure anybody who's actually interested could find them easily.
So the second theory is that the earth's climate changes in cycles approximately 200 years in duration. In the 1800's there were claims that we were all gonna fall victim to "global cooling" (OMG the irony!). This was explained by the axis of the earth and its rotation. Again I lack some details but you get the general idea.
So I was just curious of everybody's opinion on the matter. If you agree with the first mentioned theory how do you disprove the second?
