How to get tokens?

I was wondering how you get tokens beside posting on the forums? I am also wondering is the bank just like a bank in real life as in you put in your money and wait a while then take it out with some added interest? What is the best way to get tokens?

Token-gaining methods:
* Posting. (Gee, what a surprise.) Gives 5 + 0.01 per character in the post, 15 + 0.01 if you're creating a topic instead of posting in one.
* Giving reputation (positive-only) to other users. (This is done via the "Add to (name)'s Reputation" button in the bottom left of each post.) Always equal to three tokens.
* Rating threads is worth 2 tokens. (Can be done while posting in a thread for the first time, via the "Rate Thread" dropdown beneath the post window in Additional Options, or at the bottom of any open thread via the same dropdown.)
* Sucking up so people give you tokens also helps from time to time.
* The bank. Once a day, all tokens in the bank are counted for 2% interest (so for every 100 tokens you have, you get two.) If you don't plan to use them, keep all your tokens in the bank for the interest. It's not always that high unless you're already "rich", but the little extra it brings is still more than nothing.

Taking part in a poll gives you tokens as well. I think you earn 1 token for each poll you take part in.

posting lyrics with LOTS of words gives you quite a few tokens

I am not sure, but im guessing.. couldnt u post messages with garbage in it? I.E. just typing random letters? cus that seems like an easy way to make some cash! $_$

I would think that if you were to just throw random letters around in a forum and put 1000 letters of nothing then you will get modded and that should get rid of the tokens you just earned. Just guessing.

An administrator or moderator will most likely see it, and I do believe that's cause enough for a ban.

Yeah. Again, posting ANY long message means more tokens than a short one.

But yes, I do believe there was something in place as a rewards system for posting lyrics for the database. I just don't know details.

As for the "best way" to spend tokens? It's all up to you, really, because I've actually gone without buying a single shop item to this day (in fact, most of my tokens just get donated to other people randomly), and only one piece of media. If you want videos, hit the Media Shop. If you want to muck with your title or perhaps just have a prettier name tag on posts, go through the Forum Shop. Really, the only thing I can do without knowing you better is suggest you look through both sides of the shop and see what catches your fancy.

Also, just a personal tip: I wouldn't advise buying "Glow" for your username. Most of us here use browsers that can't see it (ie, NOT Internet Explorer), and from what I've heard, it's not that pretty anyway.

I remembered back at the old site, i just need to get logged in and visit the site to get some tokens. Now just seems like that method don't work anymore. And the interest rate seems to go real slow for me.

Intrest occurs within 24 hours of you logging in, if the timer isn't already at work for your account. If you log in once a week? Only one session of interest a week. A much better summary of tokens than the one in this thread ended up here, so give that a browse.

I noticed when i was looking at my profile thing.. that in the token info area, that Referrals: 0 was there, is there a way to referr people to bemanistyle, and if so, than how, cus i know a couple people that might like joining

When someone joins, if they enter your username into the "referred by" field, then you will recieve a referral point.
