Steps (  ) To Play Double:
- Connect Two Pads
- Press Start on Pad 1
- Press Start on Pad 2
- Double will now be an available option given it's included in the theme your using.
- Select double.
- Choose a song.
- Reattach legs once they fall off.
Note: Playing double on thin mats has been known to result in pad slippage and death due to slipping, slamming your head on the floor, and cracking your skull open. This is very embarassing as the paramedics will generally laugh at your lame dancing skills, the fact that your playing DDR in your basement, and that you don't have a decent set of pads.  | |

Are you using a labtop keyboard? By default the second player start key is on the number pad of a normal keyboard. | |

I tried it and quickly realized as my pads went from right next to each other to about a foot apart that there was a good chance as I moved across pads I'd end up killing myself  .
Lord knows I'm going to try again though. | |

2) Staple EDGES of flat mats onto thin plywood sheet.
3) If playing with socks/barefoot, maybe plastic cover?
4) Profit.

button bashing might be hard, but turning your fingers or doing 360s or 180s is even more harder on fingers

How to play Doubles on StepMania:
1) Get a theme that has that option available (most do including the default theme)
2) If you are gonna use pads, hook them up to the computer using a USB adaptor or whatever BEFORE you enter StepMania.
3) Now go to Options -> Config Key/Joy Mappings and set up the two pads using the instructions provided onscreen. If you are gonna just use the keyboard, then skip step 2.
4) Go back to the main menu and start the game with either pad/keyset. When you get to the select style screen, press the start button for the other pad/keyset. Now choose Double and play.
