[Idea] Laser Deathray

Here's my idea:

Take several (10 or 20) green laser pointers.
Remove the diodes from these pointers.
Remove the IR filters from the front of the diodes.
Mount the diodes on a rotational motor
Carve a cone out of some durable substance.
Mount the diode motors on this cone.
Put an IR/Laser rangefinder in the center of the cone.

Rangefinder provides a length of a triangle(other being radius of the cone) for law of cosines. Embedded system rotates each motor so the diodes complete the law, focusing the lasers at a point within any range of rotation for the motors.

Power each diode to 10mW.

Point cone at things.

Am I just crazy, or is this as fun(expensive) as it sounds?

I would imagine that at the most it would be an all-weather ant burner or skin cancer inducer. But what do I know?

I think the most you're going to get out of the Laser pointers is a Melanoma gun or something to blind people with.

If you used larger (albeit a lot more expensive) lasers I guess you could hurt someone with it but I don't think you're going to be able to make a "deathray" out of it.
