I've seen the video mentioned in that article (the two guys smashing the iPhone with a hammer and nail) and I have to say I'm disgusted. What a waste of $600+.

iphone update!

The dude here who has it is experiencing the problem that it blacks out and returns to the home screen randomly every 3 or so minutes.

hah, early model bugs.

I've had it for longer than a week now and it's running great. I have heard about bugs like that though.

My girlfriend's using her's right now as she's on vacation with family.

The only thing I dislike is the oily surface it gets after a certain time of touching it.
If you try to clean it off with your shirt or something, it'll just smear it and make it a more... "defined" smudge.
That and Youtube's function is like only 30% worth it. I don't like how it won't search anything that isn't popular as hell like Charlie the Unicorn or somethin'.
The internet is not even close to being as slow as people say it is. It's a little slower than dsl.

Overall, I like it.

My guess about the Youtube thing is that all of the videos aren't converted to x264 yet. I suspect there will be more and more videos showing up soon.

That'll happen on most phones with nice displays (Blackberry, Palm, Sidekick, RAZR and the like). You just have to get a nice cleaning cloth and be gentle when cleaning the display off.

I got to mess around with one when I was on a trip to the US last week in a Apple store. It's quite the slick little devise but other then a flashy UI, it's lacking a lot of features that other phones in that price range have...

Its nice, I know someone with one. Would I actually buy one. Probably if I didn't already have my Blackberry. I would definately not get rid of my Ipod video for it. It is stupidly intuitive, a co-workers 3yr old son was using it.
