In fact, the only reason I found out about it is because I read this thread.
My opinion (if you care): The iPhone looks great, but from what I've read from the specs, it isn't much better than some of the other phones I could easily purchase over here. I can see where the hype is coming from, it's an Apple product, and everyone I know that has an Apple product swears by them, so what could be better than a phone made by Apple?
This is just me being skeptical though. I wouldn't say no if someone offered me one.

I really hated how the keyboard can only be used holding the iphone vertically, having that work horizontally would have given you so much more room. It's lack of an AIM client was probably the biggest let down.

internet however = flip it verticaly before opening up the url submission screen and youll be pleasantly suprised
as for the iPhone mini:
the PERFECT idea for a mini apple phone concoction EXCEPT that it will never work as well as it should given that only using the voice controls without a screen would be a major pain because speaking clearly is not always as easy as they try to make it out to be.
i can only see bad things coming from its use and many people will get numerous brain aneurysms trying to pronounce their own family members names.
if their made i can already invision seeing people throwing them out their car windows the day they get them.

I didn't like the learning curve on the keypad and how it seems to be heat sensitive because I couldn't use my sharpie pen as a stylus for it which would have made everything easier. It was slick though. I'll give it that and it was cool how the youtube system worked on it although I couldn't get a real feel for how it works... I just watched the fox news anon report and that was all (after fighting with the keypad for 10 minuets). It couldn't find any IIDX vids or anything like that. I'd like to see if things like youtube rip offs would function as well as normal youtube vids.

....It couldn't find any IIDX vids or anything like that. I'd like to see if things like youtube rip offs would function as well as normal youtube vids. | its totally worth it after you figure it out, and in some applications you can turn it sideways to make the keypad bigger. The only reason it had to be heat sensitive was bc i "think" it had something to do with the multi touch screen system and using a stylus would defeat the purpose of using that somehow.
also:
most of the vids on youtube aren't formated to fit the iPhone screen yet (some of the best probably never will) but they're slowing re-sizing the more popular ones (i think and hope)

But for me, it's deficient 2.0MP camera (THAT DOES NOT EVEN HAVE A FLASH FUNCTION) that makes me stay away from this phone.
I'll guess I'll wait till they release a more-improved Iphone.....or I'll just stick with either Nokia or Sony Ericsson.
