Question Japanese equals to American versions?

~All Questions Relating to Home Versions~

Hey guys, just a few questions really...er not a list, but just some specifics.
So I know that in Japan they have DDR Max 2, and DDR Extreme, which have the same names and are technically the same game with a few differences...expect there EX which has a lot of songs from our Ex 2...

Anyway I've heard of the games "Strike!" and "party collection," correct me if im wrong....so does Strike=Ex 2?
And Party collection is......

Oh and I know there SuperNOVA just came out >_>

This topic kinda ties in with me wanting to get DDR Ex JP version but...yeah not really..

As far as I recall, Strike and Party Collection were Japan-only releases. They have no US equivalent.

They might have moved some things into the US release of Extreme 2, but for all intents and purposes, those are seperate games entirely. There are no name changes and such.

STR!KE came a bit after DDREX2, and it had some improvements. The graphics are basically the same, though. Party Collection is a completely different beast. No US equivalent.

Games only share graphical elements. They can have a lot of the same songs but not the exact same songlists.

Party Collection is basically like a "Konamix" while bring Paranoia Respect, Stars and some other songs. Extreme JP is like a totally different genre.

EXTREME JP and MAX2 JP are both pretty great, in my opinion. Both without those annoying unlock systems that most US releases have (well there still is unlocks but they are much less involved and lower in number.) MAX 1 is also very good too, and if you play stepmania the interface will be very familiar.

the US Konamix is pretty awesome too. A lot of the PS1 DDRs are pretty fun too if you don't mind the lack of options that the newer ones have.

Do you mean Max 1 American? If so I've been wanting to pick it up (or jip a friend off of it XD) I know its good...but I won't forgive it for what they did to Sandstorm...
Anyway are there any really good exclusives on Max 2 JP or Ex JP?
well...im gonna go look at a song list for both but I may not recognize some so...yeah it would help to know how they are.
Thanks guys ^_^

p.s. Lets say I do get Konamix or DDR for PS1...can I save it with a PS2?

In terms of interfaces:

(Japanese version = American version)
Best Hits = DDR (1st)
4th Mix = Konamix
Festival = Extreme
Str!ke = Extreme 2

DDRMAX, MAX2, and SuperNOVA are the same in the USA and Japan.

Kind of a bad example, considering about half of PC's song list is licensed.

And while no US games uses the PC theme, it's worth mentioning that it's a MAX type skinm like MAX, MAX2, and Extreme had.
