In need of a nerd: GIFs

OK, well, I basically know how to make GIFs. I'm all ready to make a few for YTMND. But then I realize: I have no clue what program to use. Does anybody know about any free programs I could use to make a good gif?

nah seriously im not a nerd..im gonna tell you because i also hate emos lol..

use the following:

-flash (save the files in a gif)
-corel draw (i dont recomend this one because its so easy to make..too hard to make the conversion)
-adobe illustrated etc (this requieres skills, but once you know the deal, you can make gifs with eyes closed)

I use imageready and jasc animation shop.

I use CoffeeCup Gif Animator, which is completely free, but the quality isn't all that good. I had a free trial of Ulead GIF Animator 5, which is way better but not free (about $60 for the full version)

BTW where can I get Flash, and how much does it cost?

I could download the trial version of Flash, and make as many animations as I'm likely to need before the trial runs out. Any other suggestions?
