Total Tokens: 3,106,446,907,501.43 Donate Tokens | You have to buy both the memory card slots with power adapter and the metal front plate. Memory card slots go for about $999 - $1200 right now and the front piece of metal is almost impossiable to find, you would probably need to have a metal shop cut yours and weld a harnest for memory card slots in. That will be about another $300. Keep in mind if your machine is Korean and not Japanese then you have to cut all the wood away from behind the panel and you HAVE to have a panel custom made because a japanese panel with card slots wont fit anf there werent any korean machines with card slots (I don't care what anyone who played 3MPV2K says, they are wrong).
So overall, it's not worth your time yet alone money. If you want to do it to keep score it's a pain in the ass because your mem card has to be from 5th Mix JAP psx and the card fills up before you get a score for every song, if you want to do it for edits go to ddr freak and check out their FAQ, there is a section about loading saves onto the PCMCIA card in the machine via CD (Currently for EX only)

Appending on what Anthony said, I believe DDR USA cabs are the same (Korean design), plus I was told those don't have USB slots or the connectors for the memory card slots, but don't quote me on that. I haven't stared at a DDR PCB in a long time.

I think there is a save hack on DDRFREAK, but you can save scores for most songs. I think the upper limit is like ~175 or so. This is for single/double and covers all difficulties for scores, after that you need a new mem card (ie. You save a score for xenon, and it leaves a space for all the other difficulties of xenon on singles/doubles). Oh yeah, and all the oni mixes from MAX2 take one full space on the card, thus decreasing the spots available for other songs. So yeah, for scorekeeping purposes, you are probably better off with a pen/paper or a digicam.

So I said screw it. My arcade is full of cheap bastards, so they would never buy it. Thanks Anthony. Problem solved, thread could be locked. | |
