Problem with announcer

I downloaded a DDR Extreme announcer whenever I play it in SM4.0 it doesnt seem to do anything and I have it on.Also if I were to edit the announcer do I have to name the files Im replacing the originals with the same name.IE I replace a file named CARD_0161 with a file called MenuSpin do I name it CARD_0161 and does it have to be mp3 format cause mine is .wav. the file im replacing it with.

I might be wrong but I don't think announcers work well on SM 4.0 yet. Actually nothing I have works well with it.

SM 4.0 is currently in NIGHTLYS, not even betas yet.
They are trying to change up SM for the better by making it slightly less DDR-like (for legal reasons, of course). To do so they are re-doing much of the back-end which is why many things currently work differently or don't.

If you want smooth play, use 3.9 final. If you want to test out the newest build, use the 4.0 nightlys but don't be surprised when they blow up :-P

ya, I hate 4.0, so I only use 3.9, and only 3.9.
