Yeah, seriously, what's with all the NX hate? It's like it's cool to bash on it, even people that never played the game said it sucked. Although, most of the good hardcore players like NX, so maybe it's just those who don't do high-level NM that are disappointed? I dunno, I think it's a pretty sick mix.

I also think the interface was improved. Zero looked nice but it was so bloody unintuitive. The song information was on a small line near the bottom, it was hard to read the title cards, and all the useful information was stashed away in corners. Sure, for common players it's no problem, but for the n00bz it's a nightmare trying to figure it out (and I doubt many watch 'how to play'). Didn't help that half of the damn screen was covered by a movie preview. NX is very simple, all the information is very easy to see, and now all songs are accessible without having to change channels.

NX has good songs, good graphics, and good stepcharts in my opinion. It's a good improvement from Zero. Can someone explain to me why there's so much hate?

Ah well, this was a funny video. I wonder if Konami or AM will even bother suing these guys, they'll probably just release a few machines in the Ukraine. I guess if they show up other places it'd be more trouble.

The music. It's not enough of an improvement over PIU Zero at all. The last few Pump games have gotten to the point where I don't see that much difference. If PIU is going to be a long standing music game they need to at least make a noticable difference.

Ummm... let's not get into "this mix has better songs than that" arguments, because song quality is rated ONLY on... opinion. There are sizable amounts of people who love the new songs and quite a few who hate the new songs. With 30 new licenses each mix, there's always a probability that there will be a player who will hate all of them. I suggest giving every song a fair chance on all the stepcharts or giving it a listen a few times. It took me 5-6 listens to LIKE the songs from Zero, while it averaged 1-3 to love the NX songs.

Keep in mind, because of how DIFFICULT and COSTLY it is to buy licenses for every mix... we can't have the mammoth 70-80 new songs per mix that a game such as beatmania IIDX can afford to do, which also means the songlist cannot change that drastically from game to game. I don't exactly know what you mean by "improve" the music, since NX is using genres different from Zero's. I mean, Terminal Depository and What's Going On are like night and day... It sounds like you just happen to be in the unfortunate category of people who just can't find enjoyment in the NX songs... sounds like you'll have to stick to Zero songs.

Come to think of it, the LAST time AM tried to overhaul the songlist too much, we ended up with...
Premiere 3. One of the worst PIU mixes EVER. In fact, some people thought PIU was going to be dead because of it, until Exceed pretty much saved the series from certain doom (though not without casualties from arcades who discarded PIU machines).

Anyway, original_z pretty much summed up why the interface NX is functionally better than Zero's. Although NX's is too monochrome for its own good... the interface would've been so much better if we had a nice metallic interface or something. Oh well, at least it's a lot easier to navigate for n00bs and regulars.
