Complete PIU newbie here: The machine is the kind with the big projection screen. The pads are fine on the left, but I'm not sure about the right side. The bars are very loose but still usable.
Note about the pads: Fine for me was trying to pass songs on crazy, so I'm not sure if they'd be wore for NM
The atmosphere is great, there are cool people there too. Most people are surprised if you know how to play, so gove them a show
There's also a GENUINE DDR Machine there. GREAT condition and it has memory card slots

Maybe Pump machines are just like this (I wouldn't know, but I doubt it), but you know that weird hollow feeling you get when you step on an arrow in DDR, and it doesn't register? Like, you you know that you're going to get a miss before you even see it on the screen? Well, I get that a lot with this machine, except I don't actually get the misses I'm expecting. It's really disorienting. I do get pad misses now and then too though. Haven't played on the second player side. (I think it's also worth noting that the first player bar is loose, and missing the padding. Also, there aren't any carpets anywhere near the machine...you know, to wipe your feet on, since the pads are dusty...)

The Zero in Hilo, Hawaii is actually a DX.

The Exceed 2 DX at the Waterfront Arcade in Seattle, Washington is now a Zero but also has the worst pads I've used on a Pump machine (not to mention you can pull the bars out o_O) and has pretty much no volume. There is a much better Zero at Acme Bowl in Tukwila, Washington. $0.75/3 songs, decent volume, excellent pads.

Dave and Buster's Hilliard, Ohio has Zero. It's a very good machine, it costs 5.8 credits to play (depending on credit method, that's a little over a dollar) and I'm there often. Big screen TV, I'm not sure what's that called, DX I believe.

Wilt Chamberlain's (Boca Raton, Florida) is open from 11:30 AM to 11:30 PM. It's extremely tough to hear the machine (surrounding it is a video poker machine, mini-room entrance/exit, Need For Speed, Time Crisis 3, a bunch of pinball machines, some fighting games, and a Star Wars game). Last time I went the 1P pad was in perfect condition, but that was a couple years ago.

I'm going on Wednesday so I'll give a report then.

What can I tell you in Mexico many things are really different to usa or other contries I have to say this in Mexico the game cost when zero arrived (january 2006) was of 5 pesos (less than us $.50 ) when players don't pay more the cost down to 3 pesos (in places where use tokens 2 or 3 (about 6 pesos)) but there are places where the cost is of 2 pesos so what's happening??!
