As you can see there is a ton of lines all over the TV and 3 crack/dent looking things on the right.
Here is a couple closeups with the "cracks" on them
also if it helps the TV still produces a picture, but it has the same pattern over the picture and the TV is a 42 Inch Sharp Aquos
Now before I do something like strangle him, can you guys tell me anything that could help me get this back to normal, or am I just screwed and forced to replace/send in the TV.
Just asking because this was a purchase that cost me a lot of money, and fixing it is going to take a lot more, and I'm not the richest person on earth.

My TV (not nearly as nice as yours) has a built in DVD player and my dad insisted we take it on a trip in case we wanted to watch DVDs there. Well somehow in the car something got unaligned in the player and whenever you play DVDs, it makes a nice grinding noise. You can still play things, it's just really hard to hear them. I still haven't replaced it.
Anyway, sorry for the pointless post, and good luck getting a new TV.

The only way to repair the TV would be to have the LCD screen replaced, but seeing how the bulk of the cost of a TV like that is the LCD screen anyway, it's probably best to buy another TV. Real shame though..........
...but uhh... why did the family even allow the kid to handle a neon light tube in the first place anyway?

I guess they had it in the car incase of some sort of emergency or something, but the kid was playing with it like a friggin' lightsaber. >.<;;
Damn, thier kid is okay but destructive as hell. Mostly why I just keep in touch with my immediate family most of the time, I can at least trust them better

That sort of reminds me of my old Gameboy pocket too. I had in a pocket of my backpack that has like a bungee cord thing on the outside and this girl was sitting across the aisle on the school bus snapping the cord. When I took my gameboy out, the outer covering screen had fallen off and the inner one was totally cracked and all the liquid stuff was puddled up around the crack. It sucked pretty bad and I wanted to wring that girl's neck. I ended up getting a Gameboy color to replace it. XD

Sell the child into slavery to cover costs of repair. That'll teach him. Not to mention remove the source of the problem.

On that note, thread is over.
