Default Save stepmania (and other ddr sims)

Have a look at this page, then have a look at what the lovely entertainment industry is gunna do against us all.

These bastards have wasted our tax dollars by calling up court sessions to rob us of our basic rights and freedoms.

Under their laws you wouldn't be-able to copy your own music into stepmania and make edited stepfiles...in fact their plans are to install invisible software onto all things electronic in nature, and they have a hell of alot of money. They aren't loosing money, hell no, now they are reporting record profits.

The entertainment industry is corrupt they must go, others 'll take their place and we'll have started that information revolution we are deserving of instead of having these bastards repress technology. That corrupt industry certainly has killed alot of cool things.

They are trying to wrap a technological hangin rope on us. They want to permanently widen the technological gap between government, them and us. Our system is being used against us by these terrorists. We just don't think of them as terrorists because they don't use bombs and guns, and they don't seem evil, they are entertaining us the whole while they are gradually turning us all into slaves (complete with electronic tracking systems). It's sickening, I think the best thing for us all to do is boycott the entertainment industry as a whole. Just stop buying their stuff. Let them wither into extinction. I know it's a hard thing to do but I would rather get rid of everything else and just have an internet connection.

Honestly I think the taxpayers as a whole should have the right to sue these guys for wasting our own tax dollars. When these bitches in the entertainment industry cry, they rob from us by sponging monies that could actually be helping people. You're not really an "artist" if your work inflicts human suffering, and for that I'm disgusted with the whole outfit. No more music, no more movies, no more phone, no more cable, internet and radio only.

Here's a link go have a good look at this website, defend the FREE AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE from these TERRORISTS.

This is all well and good, except... by the laws already placed, we basically can't make stepfiles... legally.

Under the actual laws, we could only make sims for songs that we ourselves orchestrated.

Moral of this story: Making simfiles was already piracy.

HMMM sure the music for the software is pirated, but the software itself could be killed for being a vessel of piracy. I think if people want stepmania to remain free, and don't want their privacy invaded when they try connecting to smo, they ought to take what the industry is doing seriously.

First when it comes their time to pick a fight with us, they'll have the software banned by court order, then they'll scoop up smo's database so they can issue compliance orders to us all to remove the software and pirated music or get sued. Honestly if they wanna make money there's theaters for movies and concerts for music, which is plenty enough.

Or you can sit back and just be a bunch of sheep while your system is being used by big business to enslave you all. Sure there's no chains and you aren't getting beaten daily or anything by your enslaver, but you won't be-able to go anywhere without the system knowing where you are. Which reminds me, if you don't believe me then consider in the US no warrants are needed for law enforcement to have your cellular provider to triangulate or access gps data (which are both logged). Consider that companies like AT&T are making deals to allow your phone conversations to be screened. Your system and big business has been putting inplace the infrastructure to enslave you all. After they have that infrastructure in place you'll begin to see what happens to the american way of life -- it'll resemble what it used to before slavery was ever abolished, only instead of it being a black and white issue, it'll be rich vs. poor. After which I'm sure it'll be system vs. businesses, and then just "the system".

FYI there are legal uses for stepmania, one could afterall sit there and create generated (or painstakingly made) scripts for their own music they like. Not all of it's pirated, though it'll be obliterated by the music industry so whatever..

Stealth, youre wrong and you need to stop talking.

Under law any DRM hardware or software must be disable-able or Optional to use basic features of any software or hardware product.

Before you say some stupid shit like "iPods have DRM on their Songs!", I can use my iPod to play non DRM encrypted MP3 files.

Example:
My thinkpad has a TCPA chip that is used to keep only compatible network boards in the system, and to encrypt my hard disk. I can turn it off at any time, but I lose the encryption feature on my hard disk (and any data on it, if it is encrypted at the time)

So, Under these rules, any computer operating system that uses TCPA to ensure real copies must be able to boot without the chip enabled (or installed) into the system. However, you would lose features. Open Source software ain't going nowhere.

I dont support the use of TCPA for stuff like this either, but class action would happen so fast its retarded. And if the company won, every other company would push NOT doing that as a feature, and they would lose busyness overnight.

Since the contents of this thread are completely false and retarded, Im taking the initiative to lock this thread.

P.S.

In our country, this is definitly not illegal. It's not legal eigher. For us, it stays on the neutral side. Stop whining about the legality of the files if it will only be used for non-profit personal uses.
