I hear a number of people saying that certain IIDX songs have sucky charts (Insertion and Inori are two examples that I hear of a lot), but could anyone enlighten me as to why they are sucky? Also, what other charts are generally considered to be bad? Thanks!  | |

Its all a matter of personal opinion anyway, so this topic wont get you anywhere

INORI seems like a 16 note note chart...it's pretty damn hard IMO. don't really think it's sucky though. M02 step vers. 1.01 annoys the hell outta me on NORMAL though. THAT, to me is one sucky ass notechart | |

The only chart parts I don't like are when the song doesn't seem to even attempt a match with what they're asking you to play.
Smell Like This. After the break, the melody has a part where two notes alternate quickly - you'd think that this would show in the chart like 1 3 1 3 or 2 5 2 5 or something. But no, on the chart it's just a 1 3 5 7 rising scale.
To me, that sucks. | |

I'm never really annoyed by many charts, except for songs with lots of staggers annoy the hell out of me (Happy Wedding for one) and songs with BPM changes solely for musical effect (Kakumei, Sakura, Mei) | |

I rather like Voltage's notechart. The slowdown spots actually make sense and are very predicatable.
The ones I can't stand are the songs with BPM changes they seem to just stick in there to be goofy: Gradius -full speed-, A-Jax, etc. earth scape is up there too - but at least you can hear the BPM shifts. :P
I also dislike charts in which parts of the song are disproportionate in difficulty in different parts of the song. Songs like Abyss -THR- and Fake Time don't show their true colors until the last 10 seconds of the freaking chart. I hate that.

I actually like the Inori chart, except on [a] it's kinda painful. I also hate the things that jump around on bpm. Fun? Not really.
