Default The true release date of PIU

Does anyone know when PIU was first released in South Korea (as in when 1st Dance Floor was released)?

Wikipedia has been ping-ponging between 1998-1999, which is why I'm not too sure to trust it.

Either that, or can any Supporter here ask AM about it?

DDR and Pump were in development simultaneously. The concepts of the game were being worked on, maybe as early as 98, which is where the 1998 thing could've come from.

However, the release date of the 1st Dance Floor was October 1999 (I was the one who added the release date bit to Wikipedia), so that is obviously the first chance people got to play the game.

Why does everything have to go through those damn supporter people as an intermediary? :|

I'm not presenting a viewpoint with an ego or anything, just... well, October 1999 is when it was released, end of story. 2nd Dance Floor followed two months later.

Since DDR and PIU were being developed at the same time, and PIU was October 1999, when was DDR? People love calling PIU a DDR rip-off and I'd like to know which came out first (despite the development factor).

Based on Turkey's info, the PIU Wiki entry, and the DDR Wiki entry. It would appear that DDR was released 8-9 months before PIU.

Unfortunately, people can use this to argue that in the 8-9 months PIU could've been developed based on what they saw from DDR, and they can use this premise to draw the conclusion that PIU is indeed a rip-off of DDR, even though we know that the development of the two games was around the same time.

So this burden on PIU players will not be removed... sigh...

But if it's a comfort, one can claim that both PIU and DDR are rip-offs of beatmania IIDX, since they "stole" the concept of notes from beatmania... but that's pushing it.

And to think I thought DDR was the original modern-day music game...
