This is a tossup between Music Production, but I wanted to post it here since I want to know what DDR players think of it and not music producers :/

Please listen to and give me any comments

It seemed a little... messy. Most of the middle was rather quiet with random sirens and paranoia squeal/lyrics, pretty 'softcore' for a Paranoia. Needed more of a bassy melody to it.

Not saying I didn't like it (was rather cool), just seems a bit unfinished yet. lol FAXX.

It actually still is unfinished, I'm planning on making it about 2 minutes, but I'm going to be adding stuff after I get a basic setup down

Also, an overwhelming majority of the music is only in the left speaker. All of Faxx, and about 2/3 of the sirens. I'd like to see a bit more stereo. But, it was okay. A tad fast in the middle. But it's really good. Better than I could do.

To much stuff from faxX. Sounds more like a FaxX mix to me. For a chop up, its good. for an original song, not so much. you need to put more original stuff in there.

What do you plan on calling this mix, "Paranoia Survivor FaxX"?

Exactly, don't just stick a bunch of sounds from other songs in there, use some original sounds. It'll sound much better.

It's more of a PARANOiA mashup with FAXX, not really something to stand on its own.

And it does have a name, "PARANOiA ~fTi~"

Original stuff I can add, but for now I just want some basics down, usually I get small bursts of creativity at a time

I do the small bursts of creativity thing too, but they always happen when theres no way for me to make music. Which is always since I dont have any music creation program.

this is pretty much a mash up of PARANOiA and Faxx but add some more bass
Other than that it's wicked!

Heya,

I'm a retired/veteran DDR player (last I played was DDR Extreme) and an electronica DJ/producer, so I actually have some mixed reactions on it. I know you specifically wanted reactions of DDR players, but...

Producer's perspective:
Overall, like most of the posters have hinted at (or stated straight out), it's a mash of Paranoia and FMaxX; should be more original bits in it, otherwise it wouldn't be called a Remix, but just a Mashup.

More bass is also the general concensus. Of course that doesn't mean to just turn up the lower frequencies; you'll have to add your own raw beats that are thicker to begin with. That's one step towards making it a legitimate remix.

That said, if you're going to keep it at around 400 BPM, you could add the raw kick drum to every quarter note (and make it sound like speedcore and give listeners a splitting headache) but maintain the 10-foot DDR feel. Or if supposing you would rather satisfy traditional electronica artists, you could half the gameplay tempo to 200 BPM and put the kick on the quarter note (more similar to Healing Vision Angelix Mix?). That way it's more listenable, but less "10-foot-feelable".

DDR player's perspective:
Listening to the music alone, there aren't many cues to indicate pattern changes in steps. I guess that applies to just listening to the song as well. Whether or not one is a DDR player or a producer, this song could have a more clearly defined structure. Although one can identify the beginning, middle, and end, the individual sections themselves sound all homogenous. Maybe add some of your own drum samples every 4 or 8 bars? Your call with that.

Hope that helps. Sorry if all that is too wordy! >.>

Like everyone else has been saying this sounds like a mash-up of PARANOiA and FaxX. Just add some original beats in. Other than that it is really awesome, I could never make something that good.

Oh, and just out of curiosity, which mixing software did you use to make this?

Hey, when you're done can you send me the song? This sounds like it would be fun to make steps to.
