Yay! First Post In Iidx Thread!!!

And so it begins.

Anyway, I watched some punk play 5keys Auto-Scratch on 7-key difficulty (so I'll give him even the slightest degree of credit here) and pass songs whilst his ever-so-gorgeous girlfriend sat next to him and watched.
Then LB's turn to play and I play not incredibly difficult songs - the first song was Horizon 7key with no mods other than HS3 - and the punk walks off with his girlfriend; almost as if he didn't want his girlfriend to see someone, who can actually play, actually play.

Does this annoy anyone else ? Well, would it annoy you if you wanted to show off in front of an ever-so-gorgeous person (of the gender you prefer) ?

not really because all they would do is watch then when you were done with your game they would either walk away or...yea, pretty much they would walk away.

But in the instance that they DO talk to you, they wouldn't have a bf around or a bf in general. so yea...in those instances, go for it.

But i wouldn't use video games as a way to hit on females.

I proudly declare that I can clear Quasar and Rainbow Flyer 7K and Stoic 7K (random, easy) but I can't clear Attitude and Brightness Darkness 7K

How is that possible? Do you play one-handed or something? Attitude is really, really easy, especially compared to insanity like stoic O_o

Its the endings that keep busting my ass. Songs like Attitude and Brightness Darkness have tricky endings and I haven't invested the time to do the 'training' to figure them out. Usually I have to auto-scratch or play 'easy' to get those songs passed but since my track record on those songs isn't that stellar I usually avoid them altogether and just play them on CS.

This might sound funny but I find playing chords and scratching at the same time really tough. I play two-handed and when I see that combo my brain goes numb and my hands freeze up. I need more practice.

Practice is the best way to go.

What I did when I was at that level was my teacher told me to turn my difficulty to 4 and to NEVER use easy. Turning your difficulty to 4 at home just makes it harder so mentally you want to pass and it makes your hands push more buttons and try harder to push those buttons. It definitely works in the long run.
