Absolute final questions before I buy...

Hey guys, im sorry for the topic...and im expecting to hear that I should have just searched on my own to get these answers but im having no luck what so ever..

Basically I know I need a game (pop'n 9 for me) a controller (gonna start with a stock konami one) and the Flip Top Mod (for normal old PS2s)
Here are my questions.

-I've seen different flip top mods, can I get a link to the exact one I need...unfortunately Im not near my PS2 (a state away) and I don't know if I would need the 8 or 10...I got the PS2 when they first came out if that helps.
-Can I still play English games with the FTM?
-Where should I buy the controller...I think playasia.com is all out

Itll be better if you can actually get your PS2 and find this out. There are guides online to tell you what version your PS2 is so you know what type of fliptop you need to buy.

Well if you want the mini controller, Play-Asia is best bet. If you want an ASC (arcade style controller), then you have 4 choices. You can get the Konami one on Play-Asia (the large green one), or one of 3 custombuilt ones from Ransai, Desktop Arcade, or DJ Dao (All 3 have respective threads stickied at the top of this forum).

If you bought the ps2 when it first game out, it is more than likely 10 screws.

Ah, ok today I just got home and im checking out my PS2 right now...ill check back in a second.
But umm...I could still play American games right?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can. I'd also check the serial number in case. I remembered sending back our PS2 and I wasn't entriely sure if it got replaced with a newer version...but that's just me.
Anyways a bit off topic, but I just ordered a fliptop and Pop'n Music 12 recently and I'm just wondering. Would I need to remove the fliptop everytime I want to play American games?

You can play US games just as you could before with a fliptop, you can choose only to use the fliptop when you play an import, and use the drivebay for US games. Your PS2 will work exactly as it did before, you just gain the ability to "trick" your PS2 so you can play imports.

Ah, thanks alot. The reason I got 12 was because I played Pop'n Music you guys provded for the first time at AnimeNEXT this summer. (missed it last year to IIDX) Seriously, completed my life in a way. ^_^

Dude this is hell...I need a controller before I can order pop'n and it seems like playasia is the cheapest...but there sold out

Any idea when they'll have more in?
