Default Button spacing on DIY asc

I am gearing up to start my homebuilt asc. In reading there are conflicting views of what the spacings are for the buttons on the arcade machines. According to OTIS's plans, it is 5.5" between buttons horizontally in the rows (center to center) and spacing of the rows horizontally is 5.5" as well center to center. Some other threads mention 5.25" for the horizontal distance. Did I miss the thread where everyone decided on which was correct ? Which should I use to get the most accurace asc ?
Thanks in advance.

For what it's worth, I went with the 5.5" measurements for both directions, and I can play on it just fine. A local arcade recently got a machine in, though, and it seems like the buttons might be just a little closer together, but it's difficult to tell without using a ruler. The height is different as well, so I can't say for sure what's different, if anything. I also think I heard that the arcade spacing may have been changed between versions. Regardless, you should be fine with either spacing. It's not terribly different, and you'll adjust either way.

Thanks for the reply. I am leaning towards the closer spacing of the rows so far
