Buying a Pop'n machine

Thats pretty awesome if you have the money for it. If I were in a similar situation however, I would just buy a really nice ASC and build a cabinet myself. It would save you the trouble of having to find upgrades and also it would be a lot easier to move compared to an actual arcade cabinet with coin op hardware and such... thinking about moving houses with that huge thing in there =...=;

9k? Don't throw away your money like that if it's that high. You'll eventually get tired of it, so you better have a plan when you're ready to resell.

WOOAAAHHH~ That's really pricey. o___x I had no idea the full machines cost that much.
It sounds like it'd be a good investment, though, with 600+ songs. Definitely.
But then again, 9000 dollars is quite a bit, and you can do alot w/that much money... Think long and hard before you do this. xD Like I needed to tell you that.

You will definitely want to have a plan if you are gonna buy one...As for 9k being justifiable? Well after customs I spent about 9.5k on mine. But it really isn't just for personal use, I supply it to the university for profit and the occasional anime convention. Granted I've only made a small portion back, I realize that it won't be profitable in the end. And after a year or two I will probably re-sell to regain what lost from buying it.

If you have money spare, sure why not. You can re-sell cabinets for a decent price even if the hardware is slightly outdated as even getting a Pop'n 1 cabinet out of the country after shipping/customs/etc will still cost a LOT like 3ish grand. If you are saving all your money for just this, I would recommend against it, unless you have plans to find a place where it can make some money. But don't expect Bemani to rake you in the dough.

$10k... calculating... calculating.... Entertainment value: not good at all.

Pop'n is great, I'd spend money on it. Maybe $200 a year. but I wouldn't drop $10k. No way.

The high price reflects the business value of the machine where it is being sold from and the markup from the distributor. These do not reflect market conditions elsewhere or the physical value of the machine. In other words, I think they are grossly overpriced (inflated) for home use. The dynamic changes if you are stocking an arcade or game center, but it is still pretty high.

Again, just an opinion to add. I own some arcade games. (no BEMANI yet) They are a lot of fun, but they definitely have their drawbacks. Despite being my favorite games, they end up being dusted more than played
