Just calm down and wait for the controller -- You'll be happier in the long run if I take my time on it instead of rushing it.

ALSO, I just remembered, you asked for it to be candycoated not maybe a day or two ago... I can't make that happen through thin air. AND, I got a summer flu early last week and couldn't do much of ANYTHING order-wise except answer emails.

I'd appreciate it if you would have just told me that you're way to busy to do to take a picture, rather than tell me "tomorrow" for nearly a month.

I asked how much time candy-coating the controller would add to my controller's shipment. You never told me how much it'd delay shipping and only said that you could add it to your duties yesterday. Because you did not directly specify whether candy-coating would make my controller ship later, and because you said you could add it to your duties on the day that it was supposed to ship, I was under the impression that it takes an insignificant amout of time and would not effect my shipment time (Something like you could do it in the morning and the controller would be ready to ship by the afternoon). Exactly how much extra time would candy-coating add to the shipment of my controller?

I know you're a busy man and that I'm just one small order next to the rest of your Pop'n orders (Which is next to all the IIDX stuff you have going on right now). I don't think it should take a very long to take a picture of a controller and send it to someone, at least not take so much time that one would have to keep postponing it for like a month. I can understand the delays with the actual construction of the controller (though that doesn't mean I'm okay with the delay, just that I can see where you are coming from), but I still don't understand what's been delaying the pictures.

Don't worry, that's exactly how I felt last week, and how I felt about it shipping on Monday. I guess I feel the same way about it being shipped by Friday.

Yes, I'm still excited and eager to get the controller (And play Pop'n Music for the first, especially Iroha, which has been sitting quietly in its shrinkwrap for a month). My only concerns right now are:

1. Updated pictures of the controller (To see if the color is right and if it is too green or not)

2. Shipment time

3. Microswitch issue (Seems that it is a frequent issue that one or more microswitches dies early, requiring the user to replace it with one of the included extra microswitches)

The delay right now is that I am hacking up a lung, am curently in my room, and your controller is outside in my shop on my workbench with Axem's controller and a couple IIDAs. Like I said, I flagged your email RED on my workbench computer which means "ZOMG Stev take care of this" and I'll take care of it tomorrow during Opie and Anthony.*

Azure. Are you exaggerating your time tables a bit there?

What Steve is reluctant to tell you is that last week he got the flu and was throwing up for 3 days straight. He barely even talked to me, and that was because he was sick in bed. I understand that you are anxious for your controller, but you really need to learn some patience... instead of just flaming about something on multiple boards just because some obstacles appeared in the road. Take a chill pill, wait one week, and BE HAPPY.

I love my pop'n DASC, and it's definitely worth the turnaround time. With all the conventions and other stunting factors that the DA crew has been faced with lately, working on all of the orders within a month sometimes is not enough time.

How would you feel if you had just put the finishing touches on a controller you worked hard on just to find the customer complaining and nagging? Think about that. I guarantee you will want to retract your complaints as soon as you hold this baby in your hands. Quality work; it truly is gorgeous.

Time tables should be exact as I scouraged through emails to get everything right (I've kept all of our emails for reference).

I'm not trying to flame Steve on these boards (If that was how it was intrepreted, I'm sorry). I'm just trying to clarify where I'm coming from to Steve and how long I've been waiting for pictures of the controller (And why I feel the way I do about my controller being delayed due to when I originally ordered).

I'm "complaining and nagging" because I've been waiting for pictures of my controller for a month and I was thrown off by the delays because of the original quote I got from him (It was originally arranged for the controller to arrive at around the beginning of June, so I was not expecting the controller to take this long to complete based on Steve's being able to rush my controller into wiring stages in less than a week).

How's your DASC, Jon? I've read lots of things about a microswitch failing very early on (Usually it seems to be one of the buttons at the very ends). Have you ever had to replace a microswitch? And did you order your controller with lights? If so, did this interfere/make replacing the microswitches any more difficult? Were you satisfied with the brightness of the lights? Did you notice any purple hue? Lastly, do you have any pictures of your controller that I could look at?

Shit happens, that's life. Just be patient, you will LOVE your controller . Pics as soon as I upload them (next few minutes).

Big Post.

So I woke up in a haze today, and trying to wake myself up, stumbled around a bit. I dragged my feet towards my computer, and checked the dhl website. My order was on a delivery truck it said.

Angels sang, and the heart of little boy (or a college student chicano in this case) was beating a little too quickly for comfort. Then the knock I have been waiting for.

This arrived on my doorstep today.

Oh my god I have to set this up NOW!!

How about another angle!

Yes, that is my name on there (backwards, supposed to sound like NAW-shhh).

Let's see if the buttons light up shall we.
LET THERE BE LIGHT!

So what rating do I give this controller after literally 6 hours of straight play on it.

My god it was worth the wait. It is sturdy, sensitive, beautiful, and plays friggin great. I have to keep myself from having intercourse with it because I LOVE THE DAMN THING!

Thanks Steve. You Da MAN!!

Looks good.

1. How heavy is it?

2. Did you get Cherry or Omron switches (And how satisfied are you with the activation pressure to clickiness ratio?)?

3. What is the height of those buttons? From all the videos and pictures I've seen, the empty space between the colored "pad" and the rounded edge of the button is much greater.

My DHL thing said that mine is 16 lbs.

Yeah Steve, I'm kinda worried about microswitches. I don't know how to work a solder let alone fix a switch. Will, if it breaks, be easy to fix?

Also NauJ, what game is that on the screen?

I got cherry switches because at the time I ordered omrons weren't available. But the machine I usually played on (SVGL, only machine near me, about two hours from here) used cherry switches, so I was fine with it (since it played great). The buttons are very sensitive because of the switches. The clickiness is provided more by the actual arcade button than the switch (as opposed to omron). The activation pressure as I have said is very slight, as in, they don't have to travel far to register. Just the way I like it.

As for how heavy it is, unless you are an 80 pound weakling you won't have any problems carrying the thing. I mean, 16 pounds, come on!

As far as height goes (of the buttons)

About an inch.

Suepahfly, the game on the screen (on the previous post) is Pop'n Music 9. I own 7-12 plus best hits. I actually played these all on dual shock before I got the controller itself. It's SOOOOO much better with the controller.

About microswitches, I looked at the inside of my controller and the wiring didn't look that complicated. Plus Steve sends extra microswitches with every controller. They are easy as hell to replace.

Wow, you have been playing on DS for that long? That must've been painful.

I can't wait for my controller! Especially since it's been getting hard to do 30's on ds because of all the chords. There is no way I can hit G R G

I slid my fingers on GRG, and I got to the point of doing 36's, plus a 37 here and there. Thank god those days are gone!!

The DASC is amazing.

I did have to change a microswitch in the right yellow key within like 3 days. But Steve provides you with like 5 spares... and that's the ONLY one I've had to change the whole time.

Unfortunately the board in my controller blew after about 2 months of play. Steve offered for me to send it back to him and put a new one in for free, but I decided to re-solder a new controller myself (only cost 2 bucks) with the help of my friend AJ who is a solder MASTER.

The board was not Steve's fault though. It was just bad luck. Just like the microswitches are not Steve's fault, if it's a hardware error, it's just some bad luck with your microswitch. That's why he provides extras, so you can easily pop out the switch and pop in a new one. It's literally that easy. I don't know why you are so concerned about changing a microswitch. :/ The controllers are phenominal. The only problems are hardware related that have nothing to do with matters that Steve can have any control over. It's not like his microswitches are CHEAP either, he uses quality materials. Sometimes shit just happens. And it happens more frequently than anyone could predict. :/

NauJ: WOW! That controller looks AMAZING! WOWOWOW! I'm so jealous! DDDDD!!! Is your left ring finger okay? It looks like it got bent or something.... :x

Actually, my fingers can bend back quite a bit. It's not even painful. I always thought it was genetic but no one in my family can do it. It actually helps with playing IIDX and pop'n to tell you the truth.

Don't be jealous of my DASC......get one yourself!! (even thought you already got one, good for you!)

That's why I'm worried. However you guys really stressed that it's really easy to switch the MS, so I'm better now.

Thanks, I feel much better.
