Last I checked with him (about a week ago), he was ordering new PCBs for controllers.
You just have to e-mail him like once a day in order for your e-mail to float to the top of his inbox until he responds.

I ordered a IIDX controller from Steve several years ago and the entire process took almost 18 months from start to finish. In addition to that, the order was done really terribly. The position of the start and select buttons was not where I asked, and there was no "Start" & "Select" text like I asked. In addition some of the text on the artwork was crooked. Oh yea, I forgot the cord had some really deep scratches in it so I had to put duct tape over it to prevent any further damage.
He promised to make it up to me by selling me a Pop'n controller at a discounted price. I was stupid enough to fall for his claims and once again I wasted over 13 months waiting for Steve to not get my controller to me.
Around December 18th, (around the time of the last post in this thread) he emailed me asking if my address was the same to which I replied it was. From December until May I waited for a controller that never arrived. When I asked for my money back in May because I was sick of him giving me the runaround, he proceeded to make some extremely ass-backwards decisions regarding my controller.
Apparently it had been sitting in his workshop, completely unnoticed since December. He "thought" it was shipped out but whoops, it wasn't. Instead of asking me if I still even wanted the controller (I assumed it wasn't done as was the case for an EXTREMELY long time with the IIDX controller), he gave it to his friend to sell at an anime convention because of half-cocked excuses regarding car issues (cry me a river I have my own money problems).
I found out about ALL of this after the fact. I emailed him shortly after my original email saying "hell, just send it back over if you have it" but by then the wheels were already in motion and I couldn't even get my controller if I wanted it. He then proceeded to take yet another 3 weeks or so to finally get me back the money.
I am totally appalled at the service I have received and Steve you should be absolutely ashamed of yourself and your business practices. I haven't seen any posts in here since December and that's probably for the best.
After the fact I basically asked Steve to make me the controller he owed me again at his cost because it was such a tremendous f**k up and he tried quietly to pass the buck by refunding my money the next day. Gee thanks a bunch. In typical Steve fashion he claimed it would "only take him a few days" around the beginning of May to get the money onto Paypal so it's no surprise it took him a month and basically an ultimatum to get my money back.
If you've ordered from Steve. I'm sorry and hope your luck was better than mine. If you're even considering purchasing a DASC Pop'n controller, run very far away and buy a DJ Dao instead. He offers much higher quality controllers, is timely with emails and sends things in a timely manner.
P.S. don't be surprised if Steve comes in here trying to defend himself or play down the events.

Yeah, Desktop Arcade and Steve Handleman both suck big time. His controller at Anime Boston was terrible, and the wait he made my friends go through for a pop'n controller is unforgivable. Do us all a favor, Steve, and just leave the music game accessory business all together.

Marketplace Rating: 8 | Quick question. From what I can gather from this thread, Steve is done selling these, correct? I'd like to de-sticky the thread if that is the case. I also see he hasn't logged on in over a year. I don't want to start a fight, but I also don't want to leave unnecessary threads stickied and clutter the forum. So if someone could respond, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Either way lets unsticky it so we don't lead people off in the wrong direction.

I emailed him asking if he still makes them, then ordered one from him a little while ago, I haven't gotten it though (ordered it friday night).
