Default Help with Pop'n KASC

Ok, well in my quest to get a Pop'n ASC, I have narrowed it down to either the official KASC or a DJ Dao. I know most of you would go with the latter, but I that is not the case for me. To the point, I was wondering if the microswitches in the KASC are replaceable, and if so, how would I go about replacing them, would I have to solder them or are they quick disconnect?

The KASC has issues. The microswitches are replaceable but none of the other parts are, and all the stuff is nonstandard and hard to find. If it breaks you are kinda ****ed. With the Dao, you just email him and for a small price you can get any part you want. I also had mine repaired by him, if you pay to send it he'll do the handywork for free, at least he did for me.
What reason was it that made you choose the KASC over the Dao, considering the KASC is more money, is not arcade accurate at all, and feels like a fisher price toy?

Ok, thanks for the info. And It's basically the button color issue, but you can read about that over at Dao's forums.

Yes, because a slightly different blue tint is way more important than not feeling like you're slapping a fisher price toy.

(sarcasm btw)

LOL. I would build my own if I were you. It cost me $60 to build mine and it works fantastically. Soldering's a bitch though.

The switches aren't standard arcade switches, just so you know. They're "subminiature" switches, so keep that in mind if you ever have to replace one.

Ok, so if I ever needed to replace the subminiature switches, could I get some from Cherry? If so, what kind?

Cherry and Omron don't make the right kind of switches, they're a much more obscure part. I'd suggest elaborating on the color issue though because for all intents and purposes the Dao IS more arcade accurate even on the inside than a KASC, een though they'll play almost identically.
