Default How's pop'n music 6?

I was just looking at the pop'n 6 CS special site and I couldn't help but notice how many songs are on the game. This is on a level that doubles the largest DDR & beatmania CSs of the time. In short, my jaw dropped. How's the sound quality, load times, system of unlocking music, does the game wrap up the first 6 games in a nice package?

first: PnM CS 6 - RemyWiki

6 had an easier unlock system than 5 did apperently. 6 is the mix that has all of the pop'n stage songs unlockable. [That wont mean too much to you if you never played much pop'n]

The load time i guess isn't obnoxious for a ps1 game. Yes, its a PS1 game. Make sure you have means to play a CD-ROM game(unlike most pop'ns were on DVDs). and a PS1 memory card.

I liked alot of the songs in 6. Especially Marching. :>

I would definitely recommend Pop'n 6. In my opinion, it has a ton of great songs in it, and I would still consider it one of my favorites of the Pop'n series.

If you're used to the newer games, though, keep in mind that there are some minor differences in the interface, such as the combo indicator being in the center of the screen or the high speed mod only going up to 4x. Still, they're minor changes that are easy to get used to.

You have to clear all the songs in challenge mode at once(not in Extra stage).Clicking secret song code may be more effective. After clearing all the songs and play CS6 series in expert mode, you can play all the secret series in expert mode.(click select or double yellow buttons)
Images may be easy. The hardest is to unlock Progressive EX in Hell 1~5.(You have to pass three songs first)

If you want to play Pop'n 6, get Pop'n Best Hits and Pop'n 7. The engine on PS1 is sluggish, the timing is problematic, and the game is downright ugly compared to modern Pop'ns.

It's definitely the best PSX release and I love owning a copy, but it's not very much fun to play after playing the later games.

It's not great, but it runs smoothly and it has a lot of songs from Pop'n 1-6 with a better interface. If you have to choose between 7 and Best Hits though, definitely go for 7.

IDK, I love all the songs on the older games, but I have trouble stomaching the interface of anything before 11, and even that's a stretch.

But I'm spoiled by 16 party!

Yeah, I noticed how with my Pop'n 9 game, I have to strike the notes a little earlier to get a Great as compared to my Pop'n 11-14 games.

Nnn... if it were me, I'd get Pop'n 6 for the sake of being a collector.

Then again I lost my CD-format swap magic disc so I wouldn't be able to play anything before Pop'n 8 (right?) anyways.

Yea, same for me, I'm fine with 10 though. Personally I like 13's interface the most..

Anyway.. I'd go for 7 and Best Hits. Pop'n on PS1 is meh compared to Ps2.

I find 6 easier to time than 8, honestly. Is 7's timing more like poo'n 6, or is it more like pop'n 8?
