Marketplace Rating: 0 | Interested in Pop'n I've been playing Beatmania IIDX for about a year and a half now, and I've become increasingly interested in Pop'n Music. I was looking through all of the songlists for the games, and 8 and 12 interested me the most.
I'm just curious to know which one would be best for a beginner, because I don't want to end up with a style that's too difficult for me. Now I'm not sure if this matters, but on IIDX I can pass all L7 and 7 Keys songs, as well as some anothers (any under 8 difficulty).
So, any help would be appreciated. ^_^

On the other hand, if you can pass all [7] songs, why can't you pass [A]s above an 8*? Stuff like Innocent Walls, and Fake Time are definitely harder than that. Which styles do you have?

Which styles do you have? | I currently have 8th through RED. Well I should haved edited my post, because there are a few songs I can't pass on [7], such as Fake Time, AA, The Safari and pretty much any song above 10. Athough there are some exceptions, because I can clear genocide, V, Narcissus at Oasis, moon_child and a few others.

If you were a total beginner, the only one I would say to avoid would be 10, because its lifebar and songs are not friendly towards actually passing stuff. I started on 9 and 10 and always found myself choosing 9 when I'd play. :P
But yeah, you should be fine whatever one you pick, although 7 and Best Hits have pretty terrible interfaces. My main suggestion is to save up for an ASC as soon as possible. The game is infinitely more fun with the ASC, and it's not just "cute IIDX" like when you use the mini.

On an ASC, it's really difficult to properly hit a red-yellow chord though some people can stretch their hand that far. On a mini, it's easy to hit odd chords. Especially on the random and s-random modifiers. Seriously, don't play on a mini for too long.
Get 8 first. Most people have started on that one. I recommend 12 as well. And if you're still interested in pop'n when 13 Carnival comes out because I have realized what an amazng songlist the AC version has.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | i would have to agree with EvilDruid on this one. 8 is great for beginers because it helps you get used to the speed mods and doesn't let you over do it with hispeed 5, and 6. Also almost every song in that version is good.

I think I'll start out with 8, and than maybe get 12 and 13 (when it's released) if I enjoy it enough.

Also, if you're interested in an ASC, make sure you shop around a bit before you buy. Some places will, unfortunately, rip you off hardcore for them.
