Total Tokens: 2,643.90 Donate Tokens | Konami ASC I'm considering buying a used Konami ASC, it's about US$250 total. Some questions...
Are there different versions of the controller?
Do the buttons stick?
Is it noisy?
Please, don't tell me to get a DAO or something else instead. I just want answers on these questions.

-All controllers buttons will stick at some point and this is definitely no exception. Expect to get a lot of excess bads. The buttons feel like plastic toy buttons IMO.
-Probably the nosiest controller you can get. I'm sure it feasible to mod it in some way.
Not to rip it apart or anything, but thats seriously the truth from when I played on one. And I've played on them all, including arcade.

The buttons sticking is entirely based on amount of use, and luck. I'm sure there's someone here who could help you with your KASC (that is, if you decide to purchase one) if your buttons end up sticking.
The thing that separates the KASC from the others is that:
- It's official.
- You're most likely to always, always sell it. High reselling rate.
- It looks nice.
- It's very light and portable, so you don't need a table, etc. Stick it on the floor and go.
- It's sensitive (could be a positive or a negative, depending on yourself).
- Kaze uses one.
Bad things about it? Well, it's loud and it doesn't have easily replaceable microswitches. It uses some jiggaboo switch which isn't common with the other, third party (dao, DA) ones. Oh, and shipping. But that depends on: your location, its location, and whether it's new/used.
Is the one you're buying new, or used? $250 is a great price for a brand new KASC.
I'm sure the dao and DA ones are just a fine too, it's just a matter of choice or budget. Quote:

A couple of things I have noticed - it is loud, and light. I love the fact that it is light enough to place on my lap and play that way, and the buttons feel fine, and are responsive. Of course everything applies to what Elixir said above.
For 250 new I would take it - great deal .
BTW I paid 200 for mine used.

Also, kinda calculatad that buying a controller + a few games = ~300 gameplays on an arcade machine, which is about 900 songs. More if you always get extra stage.

The Pop'n KASC is a good controller, but:
- Its very very very loud, but you can mod to a certain degree
- Arcade like only in its size
- Very hallow and light weight. Youre gonna have to nail-gun that sucker down for difficult songs if you know what I mean.
- Without good care, and maintenance, It might start registering other buttons after intense use, but this goes for all Pop'n ASC's.
If the walls are that thin, I definitely wouldnt recommend Pop'n music period haha...

And, yeah, I'd recommend a Pop'n from dj dao. I'm thinking of getting one myself. They look really, really good.
