Default Konami Pop'n ASC: How is it?

Just curious on how the quality of the official Konami Pop'n ASC is.

I built my own, but the solders are giving way fast. And PSX controllers that are easy to wire are becoming quite the rarity.

I've played on both DA's and Ransai's; is it quieter than those models? Will I be feeling a resistance similar to the arcade Pop'n buttons? And will that sloped play surface affect my play?

Also, is it durable? Any notes on maintenance? Note that I'm right in the middle of playing 31's now, so this controller's just gonna start feeling the pain.

Thanks to any that help.

Konami's Pop'n ASC are pretty different from DA's and Ransai's. The buttons almost feel like cheap toy buttons, but you will find the resistance to be similar to DA's and Ransai's (much less resistance than arcade though) As for durability, I hear they are quite good, but if problems persist they are difficult to fix. My honest opinion on it?
It's loudest thing I have ever witnessed, feels cheap, but can take a beating (but so can most other ASCs). I wasn't very happy with it when I played on it. But perhaps, It solely depends on what controller you start with.

Probably the worst controller I've ever played on. I have owned one for over 5 years, and has been, multiple times, the cause of me not playing. It's not worth the giant pricetag, nor the hassle it is of getting it. It's loud, crappy, cheaply made, and really nothing more than a collectors item at this point.

Your other options are: a mini ($75), Ransai (I don't think they make controllers anymore.), Desktop Arcade ($200-$350), DJ DAO ($310). These prices are all off the top of my head so they can be inaccurate but i think they're pretty precise.

Also, you have to have a Japanese Playstation 2 or a modded one to play Pop'n Music. I went the easy way and got a Jap PS2 to save me the trouble of screwing up yet another Playstation.
