man so here's what I want: Not that loud, as close to arcade quality as possible, don't care about lights, controller won't move around like a ddr softpad. My dog oddity has a ransai (i think) that I played on and it was really good but loud as hell.
MAIN FACTORS: Price, Loudness, Quality (in terms of how good a score you can get), sturdiness (difficult to break)
Here's what I know so far:
Official ASC: About $450-500, good quality, loud as hell
DASC: Don't know much about these yet, please fill me in.
Ransai: Pretty loud, about $250(?), high maintenance, timing problems?
DJ Dao: Breaks if you drop it, $300+, (don't know about loudness), very good quality
Man somebody please fill me in, and for any of you who actually own an asc, let me know which one, and how you like it NAUTILUS OUT

They don't really have the special features that some other ASCs have, but they're pretty high quality.
I just bought a DJ Dao ASC, which looks pretty high quality. Not too expensive (under 200 + shipping), looks really nice, and lights up too. It should be here in a week or two, so if you still haven't decided yet, I'll let you know how it plays. Quote:

I guess they assume that if you're going to spend almost $300 on something, you're not going to treat it like shit. From the videos I've seen of it (Arimasen has one on YouTube somewhere), it seems a little quieter than other ASCs, but you can't expect any of them to be silent while you're banging on them over and over.

ive had a ransai kagura for a year and a half and ive had no problems with it whatsoever, except for the occasional re-tightening of the domes' bases. it's funny because if i go too long without re-tightening, i'll be playing and a dome will just randomly jump out at me from its casing. "aaaaa"

I keep wondering about that, but I seem to have lost my link to his blog, so I can't really keep tabs on the situation.
I'm glad I went ahead and bought mine used.

However you can get your own artwork painted on it which is very nice if you want it totally customized. Quote:

I doubt a controller made from metal and plexiglass is that fragile. But it is built very solid and almost looks like the arcade controller (not the ASC, but the actual arcade).
