Well obviously you see where my mistake was. :p I never really bothered to read the genre, I just knew that it was kaishuu, and there was a tenten somewhere. Kaijuu or Gaishuu, I had a 50/50 chance of getting it right.

Hush.

rule of thumb is since it's a kanji compound being read kunyomi the first mora of the second kanji becomes voiced.

I realize that 怪獣 is a kanji compound, but nowhere in pop'n does it use the kanji; it's all in katakana. I quickly glanced at the banner, and I remembered カイシュウ, and knew there was a tenten somewhere. I did not know the word for monster off-hand, so to me カイジュウ is just words

Trust me, I know how kanji works pretty well, don't gotta explain it to me.

So i passed athletic meet [H] which is my first 36. But imo it seems way to easy to be a 36.

FC 1 good After Party ex 94.6k
FC 1 good Adventure ex 93.3k

I hadn't FC'ed either of them before so getting 1 good is a nice bonus.

Also raised my score a bit: 95.2k Set's Bean ex though I still haven't fc'ed it.

All scores with cools of course.

edit: Took a few tries, but finally FC Genso Suikoden V ex (4 goods) just over 91k score, lol. I get so many greats on this song. :-o

Well After Party and Adventure were obviously played in AC, and Genso Suikoden was obviously played in CS. CS's timing is a LOT harder (for cools) than AC. As of Adventure AC with the hardware change, the window was made a lot larger. God forbid if there ever actually was an Adventure CS (but maybe we'll find out on pop'n PSP), the cool window -might- have been larger.

Is the cool timing for CS different than AC? I've just recently started playing CS again (had mainly been playing AC the past two months), so I haven't had a chance really to compare the two. I just assumed that I wasn't used to CS, so my scores would naturally be a little lower until I got adjusted. I guess I just need to work harder to bring my scores up

It's not that CS timing is harder, but pre-Adventure timing is harder. And CS just happens to reflect this.

That makes sense. As I play more CS w/cools(on 12/13/14) I've noticed that my scores are a bit lower than what I'd expect for songs of those levels.

I think Gadarina ex was my first lvl 40 clear way back on Fever AC. The song hadn't been re-rated yet at that time (as Adventure AC wasn't out).

Oh and if you want to ignore song re-ratings you should play the "lvl 40" Love D Rive ex on Adventure. Though if you play it on something later Party/The Movie, you'll see it was rated down to a 36, lol

OT: Got my first lvl 39 FC today on Celtic Wind ex 94.4k (8 goods on this try, though I've gotten less before w/o the FC though). Yes the song is pretty easy, IMO.
