Also, no song previews, so you'll have to play the game "IIDX" style (actually playing the song to hear what it sounds like).
Oh, and if you're playing 10, use time unlock...

What Pop'n CS games have a 7-key mode?
(Since 7-key mode will be my temporary fix until I finally gather up enough cash for a DAO)

Marketplace Rating: 10 | Yay... more questions, I am extremely bad at 9 key mode on a mini con, any tips on getting better? (Don't say get an ASC, I don't have room or extra money for one now), also, in Pop'n 14, I am having trouble saving? Is there something I am doing wrong?

Identify the disciplines required and focus on your weakpoints. You need to improve at reading the notes, hitting all of the notes, sequencing them with proper timing, and keeping consistent form.
So, crank up the speed multiplier and get to work. Practice makes perfect.
Turn on auto-save to save your game.

Is there something I am doing wrong? | Everyone is going to say the same things pretty much. The only way to get better at this kindof game is with lots of practice. I played on a dualshock for about a year before i finally got that controller, so I had gotten used to reading the notes.
It may be boring but try playing some of the eaiser songs, to get acustomed to the note postitions on screen and on the controller. As far as technique to how you play, there really isn't a universal one that works for everyone. As you learn you will develope your own style.
As far as saving goes, i'm not sure exactly what the problem is other than saving. From the main menu screen in 14 you can goto the right to get to the Save/Load menu. From there just cut on auto save and it'll do it for you. Also (because i know the controller) if auto save is on, then when you change the controller config, and exit the options menu, it should autosave the config for you as well

Marketplace Rating: 3 | I find that learning to train oneself to read charts at higher speed mods is key to improving at this game (both for minicon and ASC)... of course, first one should accustom himself/herself to the button layout (the #1 problem faced by all new pop'n players... especially when it comes to figuring out how to hit chords)
Good luck with pop'n... it's a wonderful, diverse experience

You will suck for a while and get frustrated from your finger tips hitting the surfaces between the buttons causing tons of BADs. Once you get down your first lv.10 song down to say 75-80k, go on to 11-12 and watch yourself mysteriously getting better and better. The game generally has wider timing windows than IIDX so it's a far more enjoyable curve from there. Enjoy it, even with the mini-con pop'n is the most well ballanced of the BEMANI games with the song selections. I got 14 mostly to play beatmania songs that never came home. God bless pop'n music!

Like the others have said before me, it just takes practice.
