And for comparison, I have played every time of pop'n controller. Finally! Now I can train on disable dA STACK and the Classics without having to wait until the next anime convention or the next rhythm-gamer event! I thought at first that my controller was mishandled and a bit broken since two globes were popped out (no pun intended) of their sockets when I opened the package, but I fixed it all without any problems, and the backlighting works 100%. JUST GREAT!

Thanks very much DAO! | One of my button covers was popped off as well. It's easy to snap it back into place. It didn't disturb me at all since the controller was shipped all the way from China, it was bound to take a beating.
fyi, you -might- come across an issue where the lights stop coming on. This is because the leads to the lights are run in series, so if a connection becomes loose, several of the lights could go out. With the amount of vibration the controllers receive from normal use, this also doesn't surprise me.
It's an easy thing to fix, just remove the backing plate, find the loose connection, and plug it back in. While you're in there, you could secure the connectors with electrical tape (which is what I did) to make sure they don't come loose again.
Overall, for the money, these controllers are friggin awesome!
