Most switches are going to last you a good while, and Omrons are top of the line. And they're not terribly expensive when you need to replace them. Not much more than a couple bucks. Most are rated at 10 million plus presses, so they're going to be seldomly replaced. But I would order a couple extra just in case one fails quickly as that can happen rarely. There's plenty of distributors that sell them, and if you're desperate to replace one and don't want to wait for shipping, I'm sure a local amusement vendor would gladly sell you a couple. I've done that in the past with an older generic arcade controller, and they were more than glad to help me. He actually gave me a couple older ones that still worked for free. And as to fixing and cleaning the buttons, there's enough youtube videos to walk you through the process which is as simple as unscrewing a couple things and snapping the switch back into the assembly. Overall, it's not much harder than changing a light bulb in a flashlight.
When I was talking with him about getting an ASC, I was actually able to get it for a bit cheaper than his asking price. I believe there was a small defect or something, but it wasn't something hard to fix. But then again, that was a few years ago when they were still new, so things could have changed by now.
