How do you bring up the modifier selection? and also, after selecting easy for the arcade's enjoy mode, how can i go back and change it to hard?

and is there a list of the objectives for unlocking?

Both yellow buttons bring up the modifier selections. Enjoy mode is gay; I have no idea how to change it to "hard." I set the unlocking mode to unlock based on time played because I don't read Japanese and didn't want to read a FAQ.

I used this list when I was unlocking....

Zenius -I- vanisher.com -4th style-

It was easy for me to keep a track of what to do.. and it is nicely laid out by difficulty. I can't read japanese at all and it was pretty simple to figure out.

You can only change it to hard on Pop'n 16.

anyway, if you don't like enjoy mode, are you guys just playing challenge mode?

if you are in challenge mode, what is the norma select stuff I can't read all of it

and what the hell is taisen mode?

also what is the difference between expert and challenge mode?

sorry for all the questions I am very new to pop'n but once I get it figured out I will be sure to help other people with questions like me.

great game though, I love it.

1. Thats the setting for Easy unlock or hard unlock. You get the same content regardless. Just your goal is harder to accomplish.

2. It would appear so.

3. I beleive thats the judgement. How harshly the groove bar drops when you fail and stuff.

4. Try Select? Thats the other way to open the modifer screen; then again they might not want beginners to mess up and get s-random x 6HS.

5. Either S-Challange or Challange yes. Thats how you unlock the EXs and the secret songs. You get ALOT more songs this way too. (I beleive Enjoy is a limited song list)

6. Free Mode lets you play a constant stream of songs without any interruption but you cannot unlock anything (unless you have the unlock setting to time.)

Wait a sec, stuff unlocks during Free Mode if you have the unlock setting to "time"? Can anyone verify this? God, I've been playing on Arcade all this time, which I hate.

The time thing according to the manual just gives you songs based on the time played, so I am assuming yes.

The objectives honestly seem easier and that's what I'm doing right now, it turns out that everything in this game has furigana so I can read all the objectives even if I don't know the kanji (i only know a few hundred of these)

Playing 9 buttons it's an entirely different thing,so try playing easy songs on 9.

I still need to know what this norma crap is and I'd like to know why you can high speed mod in the norma select screen as well as when hitting the two yellow buttons.

and what is taisen mode >.>

EDIT: one last thing, what is the difference between "hyper" mode of songs and just adding high speed? thanks

I know I have lots of questions! sorry! but I'll be sure to stick around on this board and help other new players when they show up someday

i second this... because ..some song are very easy on 9 keys you only need some practice to defeat it!!

Normas are just for adding difficulty to your play. You can skip that if you want by just pressing OK in the Norma list.

High Speed as a Norma just appears sometimes trough the song. High Speed as a mod it's permanent on the entire song.

Taisen Mode it's like a battle against 2 computers. At the end,if you win,you get a prize.

The notechart will be more difficult. You probably notice the level number changes when they switch, right?

To be more specific, if you only did single-button hits on Normal (say a 10), chances are you'll have to hit triples or hit "staircases" on a Hyper or EX song (say a 25/32).

In other words: Hyper: harder chart, EX: hardest chart, basically.
