So. I failed Twee Pop {H28} again.
And passed Turban {H33}.
What's the deal? Or moreover I should ask, how do you hit offbeat whites in that one?? Gah.

True. I spend more time playing PnM than any other game.

Unfortunately, I don't think many people (non-Japan mostly) is going to agree with the 'for all ages' part unless they try the game, which they most probably won't.

You'd be surprised how easy it is to get the right people to try Pop'n. Americans tend to be a pretty uptight bunch when it comes to video games, but almost any gamer can be talked into giving Pop'n a shot.

None of my friends seem interested in PnM.

Or to be more accurate, they aren't interested in music games. They are more into RPGs, Actions and the likes.

Okay, there's some sort of wall between 30 and 40, I'm guessing, because I've been stuck on the 30s barrier (not including one or two 33s I've beaten). I'm guessing it just takes absurd amounts of practice to get better like all have said.

That aside, someone help me with Pavilion EX. Please. Like, how to hit random doubles with one hand and whites with the other. Or something. (i.e. the end)

Above 30, each of the walls are much tighter--usually two or three levels apart. Earlier walls are probably about five or six levels apart. Random had a nice breakdown on 6.0, but I couldn't appreciate it at the time.

One general advice is to just have fun playing, I guess.
Don't play to win. Play to enjoy.

I usually play better when I'm not trying to accomplish anything.

And the best part when you're doing this is even if you're doing awful, you don't care. It's still fun.

If you ever find yourself having a really awful day with trying to improve your highest difficulty, just go back and try some easier stuff you haven't played in a while. It's actually tons of fun to go back and get massive combos on things you once thought were really tough but are now really easy.

The trouble with this statement is that once you get really good, most of the enjoyment comes with improvement.

yes i do enjoy Pop'n--

DAMMIT ARCTURES, HOW DO YOU HIT SCALES SO FAST

i'm thinking of putting pretty miyabi hyper/ other song with scales on random next time unless i can get around that. i hate cheating the song that way, but it seems like the only way I can keep my Groove bar up.

WHOA where did that come from?
Again, I'm jut a guy who loves scales. Probably comes from a lot of IIDX work (Spica Another, A Another, etc).

This is VERY true, and it's been true since I could barely pass/65k Classic 9 Hyper, and now I'm 83king and nearly passing the EX.

To hit scales fast, roll your hands across the buttons as if you were doing a 3 button chord, but separated notes, and make sure you move your hand with the notes on the scale. At least, you do that until you get to me and Arctures' level, lol. Then you hit them separately as fast as you can (see japanese tatsujin videos showing hands).

Actually, I don't generally hit scales as individual buttons; takes too much energy to do that.

How I do my scales is with my fingertips (of course) and with my wrist BUT HERE IS THE IMPORTANT PART: when necessary hit the buttons with the meaty part of your thumb, the part with muscle. Also, when you are not playing, just test out different methods for scales at a pace that is comfortable to you. Then eventually build up speed until you reach your desired level.

Also I might as well address this query:

Hmm, which part of the song are you talking about? Are you refering to the alternations between the white and green with the left hand in the middle?
