Default Pop'n Music Controller for PS1?

Hi! I have been very interested in Pop'n music for a long time now and I finally have a job where I have some extra cash to spend on it. I've already bought pop'n music 2 and 5 but I have been a little stumped on where to find a affordable arcade controller for my PS1. I tried looking on the site here but any information I try to find is horribly outdated with dead links. So can anyone help me out? I am not too interested in the tiny one since I've heard it isn't as good since you need more space in between the buttons.

Any pop'n controller which works with PS2 also works with PS1, just like how a dualshock 2 will work fine on a PS1.

Thank you, but where would I be able to buy a pop'n controller online? I can't really find any sites other than toysnjoys who sell it for $500. I've heard of people paying less for it but I can't seem to find where.

Don't use Toysnjoys.

I've had terrible service with them and a few others I know have also. The official konami ASC isn't that great and iirc they're more expensive than unofficial ones anyway.

I'd reccomend a DJ dao Welcome To DJDAO Bemania Arcade Style Controller Website

Or looking through the marketplace here for an asc.

Seconding the DJ dao even though I don't really own one anymore.

Great product, great service, reliable, plays great.

Swap out the springs on it for sanwa OBSA-SP from akihabarashop.jp and you will have a 100% arcade accurate experience (well minus the fun of owning the machine, I'm adjusting my monitor as we speak :/)

I also recommend the DJ dao

i personally own a desktop arcade and it works.... but as a warning do not get one. Steve's service is HORRIBLE and i hope he isn't and never again takes orders.

so those were the springs you mentioned in a thread some time ago. do you know if they work with the buttons on the DASC? id assume so but want to be sure before i buy anything.

That one doesn't have them in there, that's why it's kinda hard feeling.
I didn't modify it because the dao buttons have a tendecy to stick which is why he switched to the hard springs; they really need to be worn down significantly, maybe I can get you a picture of the inside of a used arcade machine button and you'll see what I'm talking about, over time they get very worn inside which prevents sticking and gives a softer feel.
