There'll be lag of some sort in that equation, I'm sure.
On top of that the charts certainly won't be intended for use with an ASC. If there is, indeed, a 9k mode, have fun hitting 1-5-9 chords :3

As for outputting video to a television, it depends on the PSP itself, so I really don't know how adept it is at the job. Now that I research into, perhaps not very, as they forced the PSP-2000 into component to avoid lag issues (which means that issues are present in the first place).
And I didn't consider the charts. Even if they don't have 1-5-9 spreads, the charts would still probably suck on a ASC. Blast you for blowing any merit the idea had. Blast you.
As far as I know, 3, 5, 7, and 9 button modes have been confirmed.

party had a lot of remixes and crossovers but most of them were pretty solid fun too so it's kind of strange that people bash it so hard when it wasn't that much worse of an experience
adventure had the much better interface, though

I already have a PSP so I'm going to pick the game up anyway, but I'd rather have a new PS2 CS game.

Yeah I agree with this, the charts for a lot of the party songs are pretty meh.
I mean, I really like CN3 musically, but the chart is dumb, and that's just one example.
I think a lot of the 15 songs have interesting charts, like chiteitanken and folklore.
Generally in my mind I split pop'n songs into three kinds of charts: gimmick, technical, combo/endurance
So for example, a gimmick song would be drmnfry EX.
Technical would be something that's not necessarily tiring but is very hard to read or has weird note patterns, I suppose one that would fit well here would be Vivid EX.
Lastly, I classify endurance charts are charts that are basically easy as hell to time and are all about getting maximum combo (blind justice EX, hiprock 4 EX)
