Default Pop'n music and sound control

I guess I have been lucky to have roommates that tolerate how loud pop'n can be but I have also had complaints which eventually results to closing the door and setting a time to play when no one else is in the room.

Since I am the only one on campus who has pop'n music, I have no one else who is in the same situation.

So I am curious. How do other people adapt to this problem when they play? My boyfriend plays in the basement and when I am home I play in my room (but I can't play it after certain hours.)

Assuming you're playing on an ASC, you can open up your controller and put a circle of thin fabric inbetween the pushable "dome" part of the button and the "base" of the button (the part that the dome clicks against).

This will result in a quieter controller, but your gameplay will suffer (the buttons won't be as sensitive).

I do have an ASC controller. Thanks for the suggestion. I actually never heard of that before but if the gameplay is going to suffer because of it, then maybe it's not the best option for me.

Does anyone know if the Pop'n Minicon 2 is moddable in the same way? It's not as loud, but it'd be great if I could dampen it down somehow...has it ever been attempted?

Removing the buttons on the minicon as far as I know will break the button.

Anyway, I tell whomever is in the house to gtfo if they don't want to hear it.

Uhhh, I just tried opening my controller/button up and doing a little thick tape mod (didn't help, couldn't get it right). Doesn't seem like I broke anything. Have you opened your controller up? it looks like the buttons were designed so they could taken out (and cleaned?) easily.

Well I guess I wasn't doing it right. But I sold my minicon like a year ago anyway.

luckly i knew all the people on my floor in the dorm beforehand so they are willing to put up with it. but since they are nice enough to not bitch at me, i also wont play it at say 3am. so i more or less put time restrictions on myself.

You are in Japan and no one else on campus has Pop N Music? Is it not popular there anymore?
