Marketplace Rating: 0 | Which PS2 do I need to play Pop'n at home? So, after playing Pop'n Music Fever for the first time, I'm really interested in buying the game for myself. The problem is, I don't know which PS2 platform it works for; the Japanese PS2 or just a regular. Some help on this would be greatly appreciated, please. ^^

You can buy the Japanese PS2 or a fliptop PS2 (should be cheaper since it's a US PS2 originally) at Pink Godzilla in Chinatown near Downtown Seattle. Pink Godzilla They also have a lot of different versions of Pop'n Music available for purchase at that store. They can also further explain everything you'll need to be able to play.
As far as controllers go, you have a few options. The cheapest is the buy the official Pop'n Music Mini Controller. Unfortunately it isn't manufactured any more but you can find used ones from time to time on different forums. Check the marketplace here to see if any pop up. The second option is to get an arcade style controller, which is the actual size of the arcade machines controlls. These are much more expensive. I'm really surprised you didn't know there was a Pop'n Music machine at Gameworks after so long if you claim to live in Seattle. What area exactly are you in?

EDIT: Remember, I got Carnival though a actual anime store that sells imports, which includes Pop'n Music. (They only restocked Carnival and Bests Hits PnM10.)

If not, can you purchase those Visa Gift cards at a Wal-mart or a mall? I do this alot if I want to get stuff online, but getting a Visa gift card at the mall is usually better, since the activation fee is cheaper than just buy the card from Wal-mart and you can put how much you want on it. But I think the gift card thing depends on which mall you go.

I used to have a $20 Visa giftcard from my auntie in NY, but used up for Hot Topic and a RPG game.
And I finaly paid off my credit card bill. (Pop'n book, IMVU, and college texts.) And will not use it again. D: (Since I have no job... Yet. And overdue fees are scary!)

Originally Posted by SLEDLAKE Best hits sucks. Problem solved. :P | Good point, although I don't agree about Pop'n BH. And just to clarify for some who might not be aware, the Pop'n games are still easily available for importing or purchasing in Japan. Best Hits can still be found used.
7-10 are available new as 'Konami the Best' editions... The ugly cover can be flipped inside out, but it still has the "Konami the Best" logo on both sides of the cover and silk screened on the discs.
Don't get me started on best seller re-labels, though. Loyalty goes both ways, and I hate when companies are disparaging and ungrateful towards their customers by making the whole "I'm a cheap bum and waited so I only paid $20-$30 for this crap!" label. Konami's 'the best' labeling is the least obnoxious of these, but it is still not a clean reprint.
