*Cough LOL*

Koop... Looks like we need to change the title of the thread. XD

(Anyway, for out of people's curiousity, the last name "Rabbit" I choose came from Rodger Rabbit. Would that help? O_o; (Cartoony Timer = Huh?! XD))

(Copied from front page article comments)
You know, I cringed for the few 10 seconds after looking at the middle picture but later on the art sorta grew on me. If there one knock against the art for this game is that it doesn't compliments PoMu's art style enough, for e.g.: the the heads on the majority of PoMu's human characters are circular, smooth, and lack detail while Groovy's seem more defined and "puffy" (as shown with Betty and Sakura in the last picture). It's a minute detail IMO but a knock all the same.

Something else I want to mention that was brought up by a poster above, this game probably isn't meant for the PoMu veterans that have the imports of PoMu already so what's your deal in complaining about Groovy? Timmy gamer might not know of the series' roots and never even heard of importing (let alone coming up with enough cash to do said importing). This game is for guys like him and hey, they may just end up liking the game enough for Konami to take notice and consider making more Groovy games (with the inevitable improvements) to whet the new fans' appetite.

So, I say to you veterans out there, just support this game to increase the American fanbase tally. Don't take the chance of better Groovy games away from the new fans.

Why do Americans take the best parts of the game & remove them completely? Maybe the next DDR games wont have music nor arrows, if it goes in the direction that Beat'n Groovy & BMUS. Hopefully they have DLC for this game.

I'd expect DLC for this game; otherwise it's just a complete waste. Nine songs is not a sizable number, even if they are all quality songs.

Only nine songs? I thought those songs were only the ones that have been revealed. A real Bemani game should at least have 70 songs at the very minimum.

XBLA has a 150MB limit. There's no way you can pack 70 playable high-quality songs into 150MB.

Especially if they're redone to include (certainly unnecessary) surround sound setup support.

That's dumb. I don't get why they can't just bring a compilation the most popular JP songs & make a Pop'n Music out of that for the US.

Because there's never been a pop'n release in the US EVER. They're just testing the waters right now.

Taking a bunch of JP songs that are popular there is just suicide for the US.

When I first tried pop'n music, the first thing I was told was,"This game will never come to America. It's too 'Japanese.'" Since then I have always assumed this was the case.

I know for most of my girl friends they only want to play music games if they recognize the songs. Is it the same way with guys? I brought them DDR Max and Max 2 and they thought it was decent. However when one of my friends got supernova 2 all of them wanted to play it. They loved it because they knew a lot of the songs. One of these friends was even willing to give BMUS a try because she liked virtual insanity. I showed them Guitar Freaks and they call it a Guitar hero rip off. I explain nicely that it came before GH but that did not seem to matter.

I would say the easy way to make Beat n' groovy popular in America is to just put a lot of well known American songs in it but then I wouldn't buy it. It's not the pop'n music I was first shown and loved.

I think it is really hard to make a balance between people who love the original game and people who would like something else. Ever since I played pop'n 9 (my first game) I have wanted pop'n music to come to America even if it is "too Japanese."

I guess there is some hope. I was at Otakon and I met someone who went to my college. He was watching me play pop'n music and was very curious about it. After I explained it to him, he really wanted to get it.

Who is really going to purchase this game? The people who buy it for the American music or the people who have heard of pop'n music and want to try something similar.

And um.. Sorry for make such a long post...

I think all the (still in existence) bemani games had a less than stellar US release.

I honestly didn't know pop'n had one but I knew GF and beatmania and DDR had one and they all sucked (not DDR USA, the 1st US DDR).
