Is there any way to unlock a pop'n 13 machine in the US without e-amuse? If so, please post how. If not, let me know.
Thanks.

You should hear a noise and an object should appear in the upper left corner (a heart shape?)
This is from the Carnival Website, it appears (correct me if I am mistaken) that some options require e-amuse to unlock but I am uncertain. Here are the codes in order from first to last:
78274331387199736479
18994677618666223697
46429787496828166682
28149944632228691483
After everything is unlocked, you should get MAX in the upper left corner.
Let me know if these work. I'm not sure if MAX requires e-amuse or not, but I think you should be okay.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems much more common to find a place with multiple Pop'n machines than it is to find one with multiple IIDX cabs or DM cabs. And even in those cases, Pop'n outnumbers them pretty easily.

There may be a more "hardcore" group of players for IIDX, but there are a hell lot more players in general in Japan that play. As for looks, I think Pop'n has a great interface, so I don't know why you are saying IIDX is so superior in that respect.

Don't get me wrong, I love Pop'n Music and I look forward to every new theme it brings with each new game, but I just imagine IIDX would be more popular.

I also think having Battle mode and 5 button is a plus, as many casuals will try it out. I saw Battle mode played a lot in Japan. I think just the overall look and feel makes it draw in casuals, whereas IIDX looks cool, but also really intimidating at the same time.
I think the whole "childish" thing is pretty spot on for how most people view Pop'n music in America (Hence why IIDX is so popular) but it is basically the opposite in Japan where cute or "childish" is pretty normal on just about everything like buses, signs, magazines, food products, and of course games. But yeah simply put, cute sells.

but that isn't to say there aren't places with two iidx's and one pop'n music machine.
