With the slims, it's as simple as duct taping two sensors down. Google the exact steps, but it's really really simple. You don't need to buy anything, unless you don't have duct tape, of coarse.

Just know that Japan was pretty hardcore with region-locking their games. Legit PSone Pop'n games ONLY run on JPN PSone and PS2 systems.

I bought a JPS2 3 years ago and the baby is perfect. I couldn't recommend getting a Jps2 anymore. No headaches,no questions asked.

I had a friend that used swap magic. His system stopped working after a time, and he went through a few swap magic disks. I just didn't want to even bother with that mess. I would have gladly have paid $200 plus for Jps2. It's just so worth not going through the hassle of the other options.

I order all of my games from playasia. They've always been reliable and their prices are pretty reasonable to me. I'm quite a happy customer with them.

I too own a DA and that thing as taken a beating. It's reliable. Besides natural wear and tear and replacing of microswitches, it's held up pretty well for the length of time I've had it.

The scratches occur only if you're a complete mongoloid. I've been running a fliptopped fat ps2 for like 5 or 6 years and none of my discs have been scratched in the process of using it, they all work perfectly.

black screen with red circle with a line through it? if so you can get around em with an action replay code if you're experienced with that kind of thing

BTW, if you have a fat PS2 like me, I fell in love with this version. It looks dangerous but if you know what you are doing, you should be fine.

YouTube - Swap Magic Disc 3.6 (No Slide Tool) [www.tntgamer.com]

Japanese and modded ps2's are very expensive. To me I Just prefer the swap magic. People are just mad because the swap magic is kinda new and they are mad they couldn't use that.

I have had no problems. Just be careful with the disc and thats common sense.

Get a ASC. Do not get a mini controller. Do not. Save up for a while if you have to but don't get a mini controller. IT takes the fun factor out of it.

Get a DASC or a DAO. I have a ransai that belongs to a celebrity and ransai's are hard to find.

I've yet to see anyone metion HdLoader. It's absolution amazing if you have/get a fat ps2. In the short definiation, you basically store the ps2 iso's on the HDD and play them from there. It's only a soft mod (slide HDD in, put files on memory card) so you don't have to worry about ruining your system or disc or whatnot.

Just for safety
Make sure you own the original game before putting it on a HDD to play :p
