why does the screen sometimes go "darker" in the score screen after a song

in pop'n 14?

playing on lcdtv with component cables from ps2 if it matters.

it just kinda turns alot of stuff black

following up for those who may need help:

I put the TV in "Game mode" and this problem disappeared. What this tells me is the auto picture ajust of the TV was fucking with pop'ns crazy colors.

Game mode solves everything, it fixed a brightness issue with my Neo Geo too!

you can take it off game mode if you keep dynamic contrast off, it seems like i thought, that is the issue
